Preliminary Study of the Compound V Extracted from Faustus Mume and Its Effects on Anti-chicken Colibacillosis

Abstract:This paper studies the pharmacological effects of the compoundⅤextracted from Chinese traditional medicine Faustus Mume.The new compoundⅤis analyzed by modern chromatography separation technology and spectral analysis method. The effects on avian Colibacillosis were determined in vitro,in vivo as well as by MIC method.The results show that a new monomer was isolated from Faustus Mume after assessing its antibacterial activity.It was identified to be 1,2,3-Propanetricarboxylic acid,2- hydroxy-,1,3-dimethyl ester by spectral analysis.The MIC of compoundⅤwas 3.125 mg/mL in vitro.The protection percentage against E.coli was 40%,60%,60%and 20%,respectively in the extracted compound group,compoundⅤgroup,neomycin sulfate oral solution group and negative group while the isolated pathogen from the infected liver was 100%,80%,100%and 100%, respectively in the above groups.It is concluded that the new isolated compoundⅤfrom Faustus Mume might play a major role in prophylaxis against avian pathogenic E.coli in vitro and in vivo.
