The Research on the Changes of Macro-economic Environment and the Effects of the Mega-events

Abstract:The macro-economic environment is an important factor that affects the mega-events, at the same time the mega-events can also alleviate the economic crisis as an effective policy tool. There is a two-way interactive process between the macro-economic environment changes and the mega-events, that is, the macro-economic environment changes impact the mega-events through the capital raising in the preparatory phase, the operating efficiency in the occurrence phase as well as follow-up effects in the end phase; and the mega-events through large-scale urban construction, as well as a comprehensive publicity and marketing effectively play a positive role in macro-economic development, at the same time may also have a negative impact on economic development because of the huge investment caused by the mega-events. By comparing the cases of the Kunming World Expo, the Beijing Olympic Games, Los Angeles 1932 Olympic Games and London 2012 Olympic Games which hit by an economic crisis from the aspect of different operational phases, the article presents the a profound analysis of the changes of the mega-events effects under the influence of the macro-economic environment changes, and gives the mega-events in the economic recovery phase some advices:strengthen the growth coalition of the mega-events cooperation and trust, reserve a certain government public funds, increase marketing efforts and the mega-events risk assessment and prevention.
