Abstract:Recently superresolution image reconstruction becomes one of the hotspots in the field of image processing. As one of the most popular algorithm in the reconstruction methods POCS (Projection Onto Convex Sets) method can be used for complicated imaging model and make full use of prior information. However, the problem of big calculation quantity of POCS approach exists, and it becomes bigger when the method processes larger and higher magnification ratio images. Based on the analysis of the POCS restoration algorithm, a new method which could reduce the calculation quantity is proposed. The simulation results show that the new method has short runtime and keeps the same reconstruction quality compared with the original algorithm.

Abstract:Traditional Project onto Convex Set(POCS) algorithm for image super-resolution reconstruction has the defect of edge oscillation.Aiming at this problem,an improved POCS algorithm is proposed.By analyzing the reason that causes the edge artifact,for the greater pixel difference of the both sides of edge,it weighted restricts the Point Spread Function(PSF) whose center is the edge pixel,and reduces the influence of the other side of pixels to the current edge pixel.Experimental results show that this algorithm can reduce the edge oscillation effectively and improve the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) of the reconstructed image.

Abstract:To solve the Gibbs artifacts in traditional POCS algorithm for image reconstruction in super-resolution technology, an algorithm was proposed based on projection modification. An edge constraint operator was obtained by dealing with the initial image based on direction-difference method. Combining the edge constraint operator with difference between prior and current reconstruction results, the projection modification operator was used to modify the residual threshold and point spread function at each iteration process. The data consistency projection process was modified to reconstruct the high-resolution image based on the improved algorithm. The experimental results show that the improved algorithm has good peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) with effective restraint to the Gibbs artifacts.

Abstract:The traditional super-resolution image reconstruction algorithm leads to the blur edge of reconstructed high image.Based on analysis of the reason for leading to the blur edge of high-resolution reconstruction image,a new image interpolation based on gradient is proposed,which keeps much information of the image edge.This new image interpola-tion is used to get the original value of the POCS.The experimental tests indicate that this algorithm could significantly improve the quality of the reconstructed image.

Abstract:In the process of reconstructing super-resolution images by POCS algorithm, image registration and initial estimation have important influence on the result of reconstruction. For solving the problem that the small block matching is liable to be interfered by noise and the big block matching can not track the local moving objects accurately, a method is provided to determine the spatial flatness of the image and divide the blocks according to the flatness of the image. It can change the block size dynamically. As the initial estimation for the single frame is lack of enough information, all known low-resolution images are used to register the interpolated image. Then the initial estimation is generated by the optimal interpolation method. Experiments show that the improved matching algorithm reduces the influence of noise and local motion on block-matching accuracy and it is also simple. Furthermore, the new algorithm improves the PNSR of the initial estimation and speeds up the convergence.

Abstract:In this paper,based on projection onto convent sets(POCS)principle,expatiate the elements and the approach of the projection onto convent sets principle.A modified method of POCS has been put forward,for raise the quality of the reconstructed image.It will be the super-resolution reconstruction iterative elementary value that the bilinear interpolation image of be deal with the arithmetic of the iterative blind deconvolution in frequency.Because of no elementary image,we just have average grads and information entropy the results to be compared.Such the experiment result shows that this algorithm which is in this paper could significantly improve the quality of the reconstructed image compare with traditional POCS algorithm.

Abstract:In the field of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), reconstruction from partial k-space data is a common strategy. Projection onto convex set (POCS) method has been applied to dealing with one-dimensional (1D) partial k-space. This paper applied POCS method to MR imaging from two-dimensional (2D) partial k-space data. This method is evaluated with experiments using simulate data. Compared with the zero filling imaging (ZFI) method, reconstruction results of POCS method are much better, especially by selecting partial k-space data of an optimal location. The results show that POCS method however failed to restore some missing data that has no symmetrical part in the original k-space data, leading to inevitable reconstruction errors.

Abstract:In this paper,the methods and algorithms for image reconstruction from limited-angle are discussed.It belongs to incomplete-data reconstruction,since the data sufficient condition is not satisfied and exact reconstruction is technically impossible.The methods and algorithms can be classified into two categories:transform-based iterative-analytic reconstructions and series expansion-based iterative-algebraic/statistical reconstructions.Meanwhile,image reconstruction from limited-angle is equivalent to inversion of ill-posed matrix so that proper limitation conditions,a prior knowledge and regularizations play vital roles.

Abstract:Based on the traditional algorithm-Projection onto convex sets(POCS),we considered the dependence on the initial image of the traditional projection onto convex set(POCS) and tried to introduce approximate point spread function examining(APEX) blind deconvolution technology in order to restore the initial one blind from reference image for image super-resolution reconstruction based traditional POCS algorithm.Simulation experiment results proved that Initial image after the APEX blind deconvolution,compared with the original initial image,were closer to the real image.Images have a certain degree increase on the clarity visually after reconstruction and due to suppressing the noise,the PSNR of reconstruction image increased;in addition,due to the introduction of the APEX,the improved algorithm reduced the reliance of the initial value in the original algorithm to a certain extent and enhanced the POCS algorithm robustness.

Abstract:This paper introduces the theory of super-resolution image reconstruction and degraded model in brief, and presents a new super-resolution image reconstruction algorithm The algorithm bases on the new image registration excluded aliased frequency domain and the Projection Onto Convex Set (POCS) method. The algorithm can precisely estimate the image registration parameter by excluding aliased frequency domain of the low-resolution images and killing the center part of the magnitude spectrum. In order to compute the shifts and the rotation angle, we set up the polar coordinates in the center of the image. By computing the frequency function of the rotation angle by integrating over radial lines, the algorithm converts the two-dimension correlation to one-dimension correlation. And then, the POCS method is used to reconstruct high-resolution image from these aliased image sequences. As a result, we find that the reconstruction algorithm has the same precision of image registration as the spatial image registration and good effect of super-resolution image reconstruction.

Abstract:Computed tomography (CT) has been widely applied in medical diagnosis, nondestructive evaluation, homeland security, and other science and engineering applications. Image reconstruction is one of the core CT imaging technologies. In this review paper, we systematically reviewed the currently publicly available CT image reconstruction open source toolkits in the aspects of their environments, object models, imaging geometries, and algorithms. In addition to analytic and iterative algorithms, deep learning reconstruction networks and open codes are also reviewed as the third category of reconstruction algorithms. This systematic summary of the publicly available software platforms will help facilitate CT research and development.

Abstract:Computed tomography (CT) is a technology widely used in medicine and industrial non-destructive testing, and the image reconstruction algorithm is a core technology of CT. Now, the image reconstruction from few-view projections is a hot point in the study of reconstruction algorithm. With the advancements in theories and algorithms, the sparse optimization has recently been applied to few-view reconstruction for CT image, and shown to have a good performance in both accuracy and speed. In this paper, basic conclusions and classical algorithms in sparse optimization are introduced. Furthermore, the spare optimization based few-view reconstruction algorithms for CT image, in particular the main results and the values of spare optimization, are summarized. Finally, the future research direction of sparse optimization based few-view reconstruction for CT image is discussed.

Abstract:The iterative approach is important for computed tomography (CT) and attracting more and more attention with the rapid evolution of computer technology. In this paper, classic results and recent advances on iterative algorithms for image reconstruction are reviewed, with an emphasis on the ART-like and EM-like algorithms in both of their simultaneous and ordered-subset formats. The following issues are discussed: what the computational structures are, under what conditions the algorithms converge, what the final limits are, what the relaxation strategies we have, how the final limits depend on the initial guesses, and so on. In addition, heuristic arguments are given for the SART and EM algorithms for understanding the algorithms. Finally, future research directions are discussed, along with guidelines for practical applications of iterative algorithms.

Abstract:The efficiency, precision, and denoising capabilities of reconstruction algorithms are critical to seismic data processing. Based on the Fourier-domain projection onto convex sets (POCS) algorithm, we propose an inversely proportional threshold model that defines the optimum threshold, in which the descent rate is larger than in the exponential threshold in the large-coefficient section and slower than in the exponential threshold in the small-coefficient section. Thus, the computation efficiency of the POCS seismic reconstruction greatly improves without affecting the reconstructed precision of weak reflections. To improve the flexibility of the inversely proportional threshold, we obtain the optimal threshold by using an adjustable dependent variable in the denominator of the inversely proportional threshold model. For random noise attenuation by completing the missing traces in seismic data reconstruction, we present a weighted reinsertion strategy based on the data-driven model that can be obtained by using the percentage of the data-driven threshold in each iteration in the threshold section. We apply the proposed POCS reconstruction method to 3D synthetic and field data. The results suggest that the inversely proportional threshold model improves the computational efficiency and precision compared with the traditional threshold models; furthermore, the proposed reinserting weight strategy increases the SNR of the reconstructed data.

Abstract:Image super-resolution reconstruction technology is to deal with the input low resolution image, so as to recon-struct the high resolution image, which has become a hotspot in the field of image processing. In this paper, the research progress of image super-resolution reconstruction is reviewed. Firstly, the basic principle of image super-resolution recon-struction is described. Secondly, the algorithms of IBP and POCS in image super-resolution reconstruction based on recon-struction, the algorithms of sparse representation and deep neural network in super-resolution reconstruction based on learning and some related algorithms are reviewed. Finally, the prospect of image super-resolution reconstruction is proposed.

Abstract:Super-resolution (SR) reconstruction, particularly on face images, can be widely used in forensic analysis and video surveillance. In this paper, we investigate the statistical characteristics of face images and incorporate them into SR reconstruction in terms of deterministic sets. Based on the set theoretic formulation, the projection onto convex sets (POCS) algorithm is applied to rind the solution to face image reconstruction. Compared with the traditional POCS based SR methods, the proposed approach imposes additional constraints to the solution. The experimental results on frontal face images show that the proposed approach gains a better performance both on noise suppression and reconstruction quality.

Abstract:Over the past few years, computed tomography (CT) reconstruction theory has undergone a rapid development. Since Katsevich published his paper on exact and efficient helical cone-beam CT reconstruction in 2002, intensified research efforts have been made in this field. Various analytic algorithms have been proposed for exact reconstruction from many kinds of projection data. Among them, region-of-interest (ROI) or volume-of-interest (VOI) image reconstruction is one important class of methods in which the projections are usually transversely truncated. During the past three years, some novel algorithms have been developed for exact ROI/VOI reconstruction. Here we present an overview of some key results in this field, especially emphasizing three milestone algorithms: the super-short-scan algorithms, the backprojection- filtration (BPF) or differentiated backprojection (DBP) algorithms, and the POCS (projection onto convex sets) algorithms for interior problem. Finally, we make concluding remarks.
