Measurement and Assessment on Personal Noise Exposure Level in Workers of a Cement Factory in Qinghai Province

Abstract:Objective To investigate levels of personal noise exposure and distribution of over—exposed population.Methods Eight hours equivalent noise levels(L_(Aeq.8h)) of workers were measured by personal noise dosimeters.The L_(Aeq.8h) was evaluated with national noise criterion GBZ 2.2—2007.Results The cement factory workers were exposed to unsteady noise.L_(Aeq.8h) of grinding patrol workers,kiln inspection workers, powder—grinding workers was 90.3～93.7 dB(A).L_(Aeq.8h) of packers,air compressor and team leaders was 85.4～86.6 dB(A).L_(Aeq.8h) of hoist workers was 81.4 dB(A).That of kiln-end workers was<80 dB(A). Among a total of 980 workers,the L_(Aeq.8h) of 90(9.2%) workers was≧ 90 dB(A).The L_(Aeq.8h) of 408(41.6%) workers was 85～89 dB(A).The L_(Aeq.8h) of 462(47.1%) workers was<80 dB(A).Conclusions Workers in the cement factory are exposed to unsteady noise.About 50%of the total workers are over—exposed according to the national noise criterion.
