Abstract:In terms of the problems in the increased number of students with limited number of teachers,this paper attempts to apply multimedia-aided teaching to college English classroom teaching by initiating a project and conducts conscientious study on this project from various aspects.Firstly,it analyzes the theoretical basis for multimedia-aided English teaching from the theoretical perspectives of L2/foreign language acquisition,psychological linguistics,language teaching methodology,etc.;secondly,it discusses the applicability of this new teaching pattern in the intensive reading of college English on the basis of the summary for the trial work of multimedia-aided English teaching in China University of Petroleum,and puts forward some problems in multimedia-aided English teaching;finally it presents some referential suggestions as to the construction and development direction of college English in China University of Petroleum.
