Abstract:Ocean vehicles (such as AUVs, Gliders, and ROVs) are rapidly developing. They have become mainstream collectors of standard oceanographic data (conductivity, temperature, pressure, dissolved oxygen, fluorescence and backscatter) and are increasingly used as trucks to carry a wide variety of hydrographic and bio-geochemical sensors. Due to the complexity of the marine environment, there are significant uncertainties in the use of ocean vehicles. As an essential part of ocean vehicles' performance verification, sea trials have problems such as complex sea conditions, painful process experiments, and high costs. To save human resources, financial resources, and time, a large number of simulation tests must be carried out before sea trials. This paper uses the strategy of combining fluid mechanics software and physics engine to solve the complex problem of simulation experiment. Virtual reality technology and unity3d engine are used to assist in constructing a virtual ocean environment in simulating the working state and process of ocean vehicles in different conditions, reducing the difficulty and cost of experiments, and improving the working efficiency of ocean vehicles. The accuracy of the virtual simulation experiment platform is verified by comparing sea trials' measured data with the simulation results.
