Abstract:We study the convergence of the solution of some nonlinear variational inequality in Hilbert space. A strong convergence theorem is proved based on a proposed iterative algorithm,which extends and improves the corresponding results.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a modified projection method and give a strong convergence theorem for solving variational inequality problems in real Hilbert spaces. Under mild assumptions, there exists a novel line-search rule that makes the proposed algorithm suitable for non-Lipschitz continuous and pseudo-monotone operators. Compared with other known algorithms in numerical experiments, it is shown that our algorithm has better numerical performance.

Abstract:In this paper, we present two modified algorithms for finding a common element of the solution set of a quasimonotone variational inequality and the fixed point set of demicontractive mapping. The main advantage of such iterative methods is that it does not require Lipschitz continuity and the mapping only needs to be quasimonotonicity. Therefore, our algorithms can be applied to more general variational inequalities. Several numerical experiments are provided to verify the preponderance and efficiency of the proposed algorithms.

Abstract:We consider an elliptic variational inequality with unilateral constraints in a Hilbert space $X$ which, under appropriate assumptions on the data, has a unique solution $u$. We formulate a convergence criterion to the solution $u$, i.e., we provide necessary and sufficient conditions on a sequence $\{u_n\}\subset X$ which guarantee the convergence $u_n\to u$ in the space $X$. Then, we illustrate the use of this criterion to recover well-known convergence results and well-posedness results in the sense of Tykhonov and Levitin-Polyak. We also provide two applications of our results, in the study of a heat transfer problem and an elastic frictionless contact problem, respectively.

Abstract:The goal of this paper is to study convergence of extragradient-like approximation methods for quasi-variational inequalities with the moving set. First, we propose the extragradient dynamical system and under strong monotonicity we show strong convergence with exponential rate of generated trajectory to the unique solution of quasi-variational inequality. Further, the explicit time discretization of this dynamical system leads to an extragradient algorithm with relaxation parameters. We prove the convergence of the generated iterative sequence to the unique solution of the quasi-variational inequality and derive the linear convergence rate under strong monotonicity.

Abstract:The main contributions of this paper are the proposition and the convergence analysis of a class of inertial projection-type algorithm for solving variational inequality problems in real Hilbert spaces where the underline operator is monotone and uniformly continuous. We carry out a unified analysis of the proposed method under very mild assumptions. In particular, weak convergence of the generated sequence is established and nonasymptotic $O(1/n)$ rate of convergence is established, where $n$ denotes the iteration counter. We also present some experimental results to illustrate the profits gained by introducing the inertial extrapolation steps.

Abstract:<p>In this paper, we introduce two new numerical methods for solving a variational inequality problem involving a monotone and Lipschitz continuous operator in a Hilbert space. We describe how to incorporate a regularization term depending on a parameter in the projection method and then establish the strong convergence of the resulting iterative regularization projection methods. Unlike known hybrid methods, the strong convergence of the new methods comes from the regularization technique. The first method is designed to work in the case where the Lipschitz constant of cost operator is known, whereas the second one is more easily implemented without this requirement. The reason is because the second method has used a simple computable stepsize rule. The variable stepsizes are generated by the second method at each iteration and based on the previous iterates. These stepsizes are found with only one cheap computation without line‐search procedure. Several numerical experiments are implemented to show the computational effectiveness of the new methods over existing methods.</p>

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce two modified Tseng's extragradient algorithms with a new generalized adaptive stepsize for solving monotone variational inequalities (VI) in reflexive Banach spaces. The advantage of our methods is that stepsizes do not require prior knowledge of the Lipschitz constant of the cost mapping. Based on Bregman projection-type methods, we prove weak and strong convergence of the proposed algorithms to a solution of VI. Some numerical experiments to show the efficiency of our methods including a comparison with related methods are provided.

Abstract:The present paper is concerned with the convergence problem of the variants of the Chebyshev–Halley iteration family with parameters for solving nonlinear operator equations in Banach spaces. Under the assumption that the first derivative of the operator satisfies the Hölder condition of order p, a convergence criterion of order 1+p for the iteration family is established. An application to a nonlinear Hammerstein integral equation of the second kind is provided.

Abstract:This paper introduces an innovative inertial simultaneous cyclic iterative algorithm designed to address a range of mathematical problems within the realm of split equality variational inequalities. Specifically, the algorithm accommodates finite families of split equality variational inequality problems, infinite families of split equality variational inclusion problems, and multiple-sets split equality fixed point problems involving demicontractive operators in infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces. The algorithm integrates well-established methods, including the cyclic method, the inertial method, the viscosity approximation method, and the projection method. We establish the strong convergence of this proposed algorithm, demonstrating its applicability in various scenarios and unifying disparate findings from existing literature. Additionally, a numerical example is presented to validate the primary convergence theorem.

Abstract:The primary goal of this paper is to find a common solution of a split null point problem, split variational inequality problem and fixed point problem for a nonexpansive semigroup with the help of new type of iterative algorithm. We construct that the sequences induced by the proposed iterative method to solve the above stated problems in the setting of real Hilbert spaces and obtain a strong convergence theorem. We also deduce certain consequences from the main convergence result. At the end, we provide a numerical experiment to demonstrate the convergence analysis of proposed iterative method. The methodology and conclusion described in this work extend and unify previously published findings in this field.

Abstract:We study the convergence of a class of discrete recurrent neural networks to solve linear variational inequality problem (LVIP). LVIP has important applications in engineering and economics. Not only the network's exponential convergence for the case of positive definite matrix is proved, but its global convergence for positive semidefinite matrix is also proved. Abstract:Consider the following variational inclusion problem: where f is differentiable in a neighbourhood of a solution and g is differentiable at , and F is a set-valued mapping, and the method introduced in Jean-Alexis and Pietrus [C. Jean-Alexis and A. Pietrus, On the convergence of some methods for variational inclusions, Rev. R. Acad. Cien. serie A. Mat. 102(2) (2008), pp. 355–361] for solving this problem: where ∇f(x) denotes the Fréchet derivative of f at x and [x, y; g] the first-order divided difference of g on the points x and y. Local converge analysis are provided for the method under the weaker conditions than Jean-Alexis and Pietrus (2008). Moreover, if ∇f and the first-order divided difference of g are p-Hölder continuous at a solution, then we show that this method converges superlinearly. In particular, our results extend the corresponding ones Jean-Alexis and Pietrus (2008), and fix a gap in the proof in (Jean-Alexis and Pietrus (2008), Theorem 1).

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to investigate pseudomonotone variational inequalities in real Hilbert spaces. For solving this problem, we introduce a new method. The proposed algorithm combines the advantages of the subgradient extragradient method and the projection and contraction method. We establish the strong convergence of the proposed algorithm under conditions pseudomonotonicity and Lipschitz continuity assumptions. Moreover, under additional strong pseudomonotonicity and Lipschitz continuity assumptions, the linear convergence of the sequence generated by the proposed algorithm is obtained. Numerical examples provide to illustrate the potential of our algorithms as well as compare their performances to several related results.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose two new methods for solving mixed quasi variational inequalities by using the resolvent operator technique. Under certain conditions, the global convergence of the both methods is proved. The skew-symmetry of the nonlinear bifunction plays a crucial part in the convergence analysis of these new iterative methods. The comparison of these methods with other methods for solving the mixed quasi variational inequalities is an open interesting problem.

Abstract:In this paper, we obtain strong convergence results for solving variational inequality and fixed point problems using a combination of the Forward-Backward-Forward method and the Krasnoselkii–Mann iteration method with an inertial extrapolation step without assuming on-line rule of the inertial parameters and the iterates. Our results present a new way of choosing inertial parameters for strongly convergent algorithms to solve variational inequality and fixed point problems different from what is obtainable in the literature whereby on-line rule is assumed. We perform numerical tests to validate our theoretical analysis.
