Abstract:Objective To investigate the dynamic changes and clinical significance of serum levels of CA19-9 in patients with bile duct carcinoma. Methods 37 cases of patients with bile duct carcinoma admitted in our hospital from January, 2011 to January, 2013 were selected as the observation group and analyzed. And 32 cases of patients with benign bile duct lesions admitted to the hospital during the same period were randomly selected as the control group. Chemiluminescent microparticle assay was used to measure the serum CA19-9 levels of two groups. The positive rate of two groups of patients was compared. Results The CA19-9 levels in serum and bile of the patients in the observation group were much higher than those of the patients in the control group, the differences between two groups were statistically significant(P0.01, 0.005). The positive rate of the control group and the observation group was 18.75%(6/32), 72.97%(27/37), respectively, the difference between two groups was statistically significant(P0.005). The difference in the positive rate of CA19-9 between well differentiated adenocarcinoma group and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma group was statistically significant(χ2=4.763, P0.05); but the difference in the positive rate of CA19-9 between moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma group was not statistically significant(χ2=2.250, P0.05). The differences in CA19-9 levels between well differentiated adenocarcinoma group, moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma group were statistically significant(F=4.125, P0.05). The difference in CA19-9 levels between well differentiated adenocarcinoma group and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma group was statistically significant(t=2.174,P0.05); the difference in CA19-9 level positive rate between moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma and poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma group was statistically significant(χ2=2.077, P0.05). Conclusion The level of CA19-9 and the positive rate of detection have important value in the diagnosis of bile duct carcinoma, which are conducive to the evaluation of the disease.
