Abstract:When node density of vehicle Ad-hoc network (VANET)is high,the number of channel collisions increases occurrence of congestion in VANET. To solve this problem,a dynamic power control algorithm is proposed. The network condition of nodes is evaluated by the value of channel busy ratio (CBR ). In case of network congestion,the congestion information is flooded,so that other nodes can adjust transmission power accordingly. Moreover,a power control function is designed,in which power coverage and the number of covered nodes are considered. The simulation results show that this method can adaptively adjust the transmission power and performs well in reducing the probability of channel overload and improving the packet reception rate.

Abstract:Power control acts as an important role in solving the near-far problem in cellular radio systems. A new distributed power control algorithm was proposed in this paper for cellular mobile radio systems, we called it Balanced distributed power control (BDPC) algorithm, which can converge to the CIR balancing with probability one quickly. Compared with DPC(distributed power control) and FDPC(Fully distributed power control), BDPC does not need any global information especially the normalization procedure of DPC, at the meantime it can prevent the transmitting powers from falling out of desired range. The excellent properties of FDPC are also with BDPC.

Abstract:Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is one of the most important multiplexing techniques in mobile communications. A Reverse Power Control (RPC) algorithm based on single Adaptive Neuron (AN) is proposed to smoothen out the fast fading and keep the received signal power from each user almost equal at the base station. Simulation result shows that using the proposed algorithm, faster rise time, smaller overshoot and better root-mean-squared (rms) tracking error can be attained than that of conventional controllers with Delta-Modulation.

The system efficiency was improved by charging each user a suitable price. Simulation results are given using the new algorithm.

Abstract:In this paper, the problem about power control in multiuser cognitive networks is addressed. The scenario we study is a heterogeneous network, where multiple cognitive (without the spectrum license) users transmit simultaneously to their corresponding receivers through a common frequency channel in the presence of a primary (with the spectrum license) user communicating with its base station. The goal of this paper is to study how to minimize the sum-power of the above cognitive network given certain QoS requirements of all cognitive users. The power optimization problem is formulated as a nonlinear and non-convex problem. We first apply the classical power control algorithm to find the Pareto optimal efficient power for each cognitive user and formulate the achievable power region of the cognitive networks. Then, the optimization problem is converted into a convex one and Lagrange multiplier method is utilized to solve it. Our work provides a theoretical lower bound on the power control performance that motivates further research on designing more practical transmission schemes in future cognitive networks.

Abstract:An SIR-based close loop power control algorithm is presented. The pilot symbols of control channel in DS-CDMA up-link system are used to measure the received SIR. Computer simulation results show that under the interleaving coding and power control，for a given bit error rate，the required ratio of signal to interference increases slightly as the fading increases; The optimal power control step-size depends on channel fading speed; If the transmission error probability of power control command is less than 10-1，performance deterioration is relatively small..

Abstract:CDMA is one of the most important technologies in 3G mobile communications. Firstly, an analysis of the co-frequency interference in CDMA mobile communications was analyzed in the paper. Then a new method for controlling co-frequency interference based on artificial neural networks was put forward. Finally, the performance of this controller was simulated. The simulation results show that the method presented in this paper is available for controlling co-frequency interference and it's impossible to increase the capacity of system without limitation.

Abstract:A novel closed-loop power control method is proposed to combat the slow fading suffered in GEO CDMA uplink channel. Instead of adjusting individual mobile station’s transmitting power according to the gap between the measured SINR and the target value, the received power from each MS is estimated using the relationship between received-power and measured SINR of all mobile stations, and then the transmitting power can be adjusted correspondingly. Simulation results confirm the superiority of the proposed method to the traditional method.

Abstract:We consider the problem of minimizing the total transmission power for a OFDM network where mutual interference exists among cells, with the power and load constraints for each base station (BS) and the rate demand constraint for every user. To solve the power minimization problem, we develop a distributed resource allocation and power control algorithm with low complexity. The complexity of the proposed algorithm is also analyzed. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the conventional schemes in terms of power consumption.

Abstract:Power control is one of the key technologies of resource management in CDMA systems to provide guaranteed QoS to multimedia applications. We propose a hierarchical power control scheme for multimedia CDMA systems, where the power control process is divided into two steps, i.e., power adjustment, in a short span, and power scheduling, in a long span. In the power control scheme, we take the dependence between user parameters and user QoS constraints into consideration. Numerical results show that with the proposed power control scheme, user QoS can be guaranteed and better system resource utilization is achieved

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a cognitive radio system in fading wireless channels and propose an opportunistic power control strategy for the cognitive users, which serves as an alternative way to protect the primary user's transmission and to realize spectrum sharing between the primary user and the cognitive users. The key feature of the proposed strategy is that, via opportunistically adapting its transmit power, the cognitive user can maximize its achievable transmission rate without degrading the outage probability of the primary user. If compared with the existing cognitive protocols, which usually try to keep the instantaneous rate of the primary user unchanged, our strategy relieves the cognitive users from the burden of detecting and relaying the message of the primary user and relaxes the system synchronization requirements. The achievable rate of a cognitive user under the proposed power control strategy is analyzed and simulated, taking into account the impact of imperfect channel estimation. A modified power control strategy is also proposed to reduce the sensitivity of our strategy to the estimation errors. Its effectiveness is verified by the simulations.

Abstract:Full-duplex (FD) communications benefit from recent breakthroughs in analog and digital signal processing and demonstrate nearly doubled spectrum efficiency for point-to-point links with beyond 100 dB self-interference cancellation capability. However, FD cellular networks with base stations (BSs) in FD mode and user terminals (UEs) in half-duplex mode also introduce intra-cell inter-UE interference and other kinds of interference, which might even eat up the potential gain. In this paper, we propose to take advantage of power control and inter-UE interference cancellation (IC) techniques to cope with the bothersome intra-cell inter-UE interference. We verify that the power control solution for single-cell FD network with a given user pair exhibits an interesting binary feature, that is, either both the BS and the uplink UE transmit at the maximum power or one of them completely mutes to achieve the optimal sum rate. Moreover, the binary feature holds even when inter-UE IC is applied, thus showing appealing computational efficiency. We also demonstrate significant performance improvement by applying binary power control with inter-UE IC to both singlecell and multi-cell FD networks.

Abstract:In this paper, we address the power control problem in an interference network with multiple users transmitting simultaneously on the same channel. We aim at achieving the energy efficiency (EE) balance among difference users. First, a multi-objective optimization problem is formulated, which maximizes the EE of each individual user while guaranteeing their minimum data rate requirements. To find its solution, we adopt two different scalarization methods to combine multiple objectives into a single one, namely, the weighted-sum method and the weighted Tchebycheff method. The problem in the weighted-sum method turns out to be a non-concave sum of- ratios optimization and an effective algorithm is developed based on the concave-convex procedure (CCCP) method. On the other hand, the problem in the weighted Tchebycheff method becomes a generalized fractional programming and we utilize the Dinkelbach method and the CCCP method to solve it. Through numerical simulation, we find that both methods can effectively obtain the Pareto optimal solutions to the multiobjective optimization problem and achieve the EE balance among users as well.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the power control and resource allocation problem in downlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing networks, where mutual interference exists among cells. This mutual relation is characterized by the load coupling model. Both cell load and transmit power, where cell load measures the average proportion of resource usage in the cell, interact via the coupling model. We consider three kinds of problems, sum power minimization, sum rate maximization, and sum energy efficiency maximization. For each problem, we develop a correspondingly distributed power control and resource allocation algorithm with low complexity. Numerical results verify the effectiveness of our proposed algorithms compared with the existing algorithm.

Abstract:A game-theoretic model for studying power control in multi-carrier CDMA systems is proposed. Power control is modeled as a non-cooperative game in which each user decides how much power to transmit over each carrier to maximize its own utility. The utility function considered here measures the number of reliable bits transmitted over all the carriers per Joule of energy consumed and is particularly suitable for networks where energy efficiency is important. The multi-dimensional nature of users' strategies and the non-quasiconcavity of the utility function make the multi-carrier problem much more challenging than the single-carrier or throughput-based-utility case. It is shown that, for all linear receivers including the matched filter, the decorrelator, and the minimum-mean-square-error (MMSE) detector, a user's utility is maximized when the user transmits only on its "best" carrier. This is the carrier that requires the least amount of power to achieve a particular target signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) at the output of the receiver. The existence and uniqueness of Nash equilibrium for the proposed power control game are studied. In particular, conditions are given that must be satisfied by the channel gains for a Nash equilibrium to exist, and the distribution of the users among the carriers at equilibrium is also characterized. In addition, an iterative and distributed algorithm for reaching the equilibrium (when it exists) is presented. It is shown that the proposed approach results in significant improvements in the total utility achieved at equilibrium compared to a single-carrier system and also to a multi-carrier system in which each user maximizes its utility over each carrier independently.

Abstract:High-density heterogeneous micro-base stations are expected to be deployed in the next generation networks and they shall coexist with the existing macro-base stations. In this article, we proposed a novel energy-efficient power control algorithm by considering the energy consumption, interference coupling, and spatial-temporal dynamic changes in the layered networks to support the future telecommunication users. First, the problem of power control is described as an original optimization problem and its related states and actions are defined. Then, a mixed mean-field game (Mixed-MFG) algorithm that combines the stochastic geometry theory and mean-field theory is proposed to overcome the difficulties of the original problem and to optimize the power control policy. By considering the spatial-temporal dynamics feature of the networks, we optimize the energy efficiency and reduce the coupling interference of the layered networks. The simulation results showed that the proposed Mixed-MFG method outperforms the related methods in terms of energy efficiency utility while ensuring the quality of service.

Abstract:According to the characteristics of line of sight and severe shadow fading on mobile communication channel in high frequency band,sector selection and power control method are presented in distributed wireless communication system in the high frequency band.In the typical patio scene,wireless coverage scheme of distributed antennas based on Radio over Fiber(RoF) is designed.Aiming at the problem of nonlinear effects in RoF system and the self-interference between the distributed antennas,an effective and low-complexity downlink power control method is presented.Simulation results show that the algorithm can make the SINRs of the antennas location in distributed areas balance,which leads to the lower interference.In addition,the algorithm has good convergence.

Abstract:A hybrid system of cellular mode and the peer-to-peer (P2P) mode is considered in this paper, where the cellular uplink resource is reused by the P2P transmission. In the objective of overall system throughput maximization, we addresses the problem of distributed power control of P2P transmission in the hybrid system model. Some preliminary results of the problem are presented first to investigate the optimal solution of the problem. Based on these results, by applying the game theory approach, that is, potential game, an asynchronously distributed power control scheme is devised. The associated properties of the proposed scheme are analyzed, including the global convergence, the conditional optimality and the Lyapunov stability. In the end, simulation is conducted to study the performance of the proposed scheme, which shows satisfying results.
