Abstract:The investigation showed that there were 204 kinds of forest insect pests on Chongming Island at present.Among them the dominant species number was 22 in which the 18 species caused medium to heavy damage to host plants whose planting area was over 333 hm2.There were 55 kinds of dominant forest diseases and 10 of them caused heavy forest damage.Some control measures were put forward based on briefly analyzing the causes why the forest diseases and insect pests occurred on Chongming Island.
