An autopsy case report of cerebral amyloid angiopathy

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical and pathological features of cerebral amyloid angiopathy related hemmorrhage(CAAH).Methods To analyze the clinical features of a patient retrospectively,and observe the pathological changes by autopsy examination.Results CAAH clinical feature is recurrent and multifocal.Amyloid deposition in the vessel wall can be found by congo red staining.Conclusions Recurrent and multifocal cerebral hemorrhages,especially those in the lobes,highly indicate the posibility of cerebal amyloid angiopathy.Brain biopsy and congo red staining is valuable to the diagnosis of this disease.
