Abstract:With the help of Schema Theory,the author summarizes and analyses the existing main problems in present college English writing teaching on the basis of questionnaires.To solve such obstacles as scattered writing skills in the textbook,students' passive writing attitude and exam-oriented learning purpose,the author introduces some measures adopted by his teaching group—transforming the classroom instruction methods of Reading-Writing course,to focus on passage analysis,stressing on comprehensive input of structural schemas and content schemas etc..The experimental teaching is divided into 3 different periods,marked by the applicable writing,co-operative group writing practice and intensively lecturing on writing skills,basic knowledge.The author analyses the 318 students' writing points in two term exams and College English Test Band 4 in December 2009,the data from experimental classes is more satisfactory than that from the controlled ones,which shows that the application of Schema Theory can improve the students' writing competence.

Abstract:Vocabulary is one of the three basic elements of a language. However, in many senior high schools, in the actual practice of senior high school English teaching, vocabulary teaching is not fully valued as it should be. Not only are teachers’ teaching methods simple and single, but also students are still given priority to memorize vocabulary by rote. The schema theory combines the known knowledge structure in people's brain with the new knowledge system to complete knowledge input. The purpose of this thesis is to apply schema theory to English vocabulary teaching in senior high school, so that students can learn to connect new concepts with their known knowledge to get familiar with the meaning of words and various uses of words, so as to help students expand their existing vocabulary.

Abstract:In English learning, good reading ability is very important. In recent years, the scores of students' reading ability in the college entrance examination have also increased. However, in many cases, even though students can understand the vocabulary and syntax of the text, they still cannot correctly grasp the main point of the text. They are easily immersed in the details of the text and cannot grasp the key content. There is a certain relationship between English reading and schema theory. The more complete a student's schema, the more targeted and efficient the processing of text materials. Therefore, high school English teachers should make full use of schema theory to improve teaching strategies, and focus on the development of students' schemata, so as to enhance students' English reading ability and information processing ability.

Abstract:Developing students' reading ability is one of the primary tasks in senior high school English reading teaching. Experimental evidence suggests that the effective application of schema theory in English reading instruction has a significant impact on whether students' reading ability can be rapidly improved. This paper explores the importance of cultivating students' reading ability in senior school English teaching and emphasizes the analysis of the application of schema theory in English reading teaching and its notable influence on enhancing students' reading ability. The article first introduces the definition, development process, and theoretical foundation of schema theory. Subsequently, through case analysis and comparison with traditional senior high school English reading teaching, it reveals the application effects and existing problems of schema theory in senior high school reading comprehension teaching. Finally, the article proposes corresponding feasible solutions, aiming to provide references for the future application of schema theory in senior high school English reading comprehension teaching. It is anticipated that these insights will enhance students' interest and ability in reading comprehension, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of schema theory in senior high school English reading comprehension teaching.

Abstract:English reading is a basic language skill, and the level of English reading comprehension is directly related to the level of learners’ language ability. In recent years, the new curriculum standards and the new college entrance examination reform have put forward higher requirements for high school students’ English reading comprehension ability. However, English teachers pay much more attention to vocabulary, sentence patterns and grammar knowledge, and to some extent neglect the cultivation of the cultural knowledge, genre structure and reading strategies at present. English reading teaching based on schema theory emphasizes linguistic knowledge as the basis, activating the existing schema, enriching the background knowledge and grasping the discourse structure, so as to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the text. Therefore, this paper combines schema theory with English reading teaching, and analyzes how to effectively use schema theory to help students effectively read and improve their reading ability from three stages: before reading, while reading and after reading.

Abstract:Reading is an important part of English teaching. Traditional English teaching has always on the basis of teaching new words, grammar and long and difficult sentences, however, it is necessary for us to carry out the reform and innovation of English teaching in order to change the ineffective way of English teaching. In this paper, three schema forms of schema theory are introduced into high school English reading teaching activities. It is hoped that schema theory can help students overcome difficulties in learning, improve the quality and speed of reading, stimulate their interest in learning, change the way from passive learning to active learning, and find a way in using schema to better help senior high school students improve their reading abilities.

Abstract:Abstract Writing is an important part of English, and it is one of the abilities of communication that students must need. However, there are many problems in the writing process. The students and teachers do not pay much attention to the English writing, and the college school students’ writing is not so good. Scaffolding teaching is a specific teaching method based on the Constructivist Theory. The author applied the Scaffolding teaching method to the teaching of English writing in College for six weeks. The author tries to test whether scaffolding method stimulates students’ interest in writing, and improve students’ proficiency in English writing.

Abstract:This paper examines the use of schema theory in enhancing English reading comprehension in senior high school students. Schema theory, a cognitive psychology framework, emphasizes that readers’ prior knowledge and experiences play a crucial role in comprehending new information. This paper summarizes the basic viewpoints of schema theory and discusses its practical applications in English reading comprehension in senior high school. Research has shown that implementing schema theory not only benefits students’ language skills but also fosters their critical thinking abilities. When students are able to connect new information with their existing schemas, they become more familiar with analyzing and interpreting complex texts. This theory encourages active engagement with the material and promotes a deeper level of comprehension. This paper also addresses challenges and solutions in implementing schema theory. By incorporating schema theory into reading classes, teachers can help students develop a deeper understanding of texts, improve their reading efficiency, and enhance their overall English proficiency.

Abstract:Schema theory is an important concept in ESL teaching,which describes the process in which readers combine their own background knowledge with the information in a text for comprehension.This paper summarizes some of the researches into schema theory and its applications to ESL reading.Some pre-reading tasks need to be designed to build or activate the English major's schemata.The goals of building corresponding schema in the reading class are highlighted,such as language schema,culture-specific schema and form schema.The author also proposes the use of the schema-theoretic approach in the reading class and points out the importance of both developing learner's vocabulary and expanding knowledge by extensive reading in building students' reading schema.

Abstract:With the continuous advancement of education and teaching reform, higher requirements have been put forward for English teaching. In China, the continuation task has been incorporated into the National Matriculation English Test for testing students’ comprehensive English ability since 2016. However, it also has become a burden that most teachers and students are anxious about. In senior high school English classrooms, teachers are required to integrate reading and writing effectively so as to achieve the purpose of cultivating students’ core competency.
