Abstract:AIM: To systematically assess the expression and clinical relevance of Kiss?1 in colorectal cancer. METHODS:Publicly published domestic studies regarding the expression of Kiss?1 in different parameters ( age, gender, differentiation, lymph node metastasis, invasion depth, histological type, tumor site, TNM stage) of colorectal cancer were searched. The eligible studies were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion crite?ria, and meta?analysis was performed by Rev Man 5. 3 software. RESULTS:A total of 7 studies with 520 patients were included. Results of Meta?analysis for different degree of differentiation showed Kiss?1 expression in moderately and highly differentiation group was higher than poorly differentiation group ( OR=1. 98, 95% CI=1.22~3.22, P<0.05);Kiss?1 expression in TNMⅠ+Ⅱgroup was higher than TNM Ⅲ+Ⅳ group( OR=5.22, 95% CI=2.83~9.63, P<0.05);Kiss?1 expression in patients with lymph node metastasis group was higher than those no lymph node metas?tasis group(OR=0.26, 95% CI=0.17~0.40, P<0.05); It can be carefully considered that Kiss?1 expression in patients with subserosa group was higher than serosa and serosa outside group after sensitivity analysis ( OR=2. 03, 95% CI=1. 07~3. 84, P<0.05);Kiss?1 expression in different gender groups has no differ?ence(OR=0.92, 95% CI=0.62~1.37, P>0.05);Kiss?1 expres?sion in patients >60 years of age and those ≤60 years of age has no difference(OR=0.86, 95% CI=0.48~1.54, P>0.05); Kiss?1 expression in patients with colon and rectal cancer tissue has no difference(OR=0.98, 95% CI=0.42~2.25, P>0.05);Kiss?1 in the mucinous carcinoma group and none?mucinous carcinoma group has no significant difference(OR=0.74, 95% CI=0.20~2.69, P>0. 05 ) . CONCLUSION: Kiss?1 can be used as a good indicator of malignant degree and progression of colorectal cancer.
