Abstract:It focuses on the current situation of higher education in the field of editing and publishing by analyzing the contradiction between fields and their education.It claims that the digital times has brought in new challenges to the cultivation of talents in editing and publishing,moreover,it summarizes the research on digitalization and education in editing and publishing.Digital transmitting technology puts the new connotation into editing,meanwhile it advances the new requirements to its education in turn.It studies the innovation direction of the education in editing and publishing according to the conclusion drawn from talents adapting to the digital publishing.

Abstract:“China’s internationalization” is in part realized through the dissemination of Chinese publications, such as academic journals. Therefore, editorial proficiency in the English language is of vital importance to the quality of the journals. This article analyzes the results of the two projects sponsored by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the People’s Republic of China in 2007 and 2010 respectively, namely the “Analytical Evaluation of Language and Editing Quality of Chinese Academic Journals in English Language Issued in 2006”, and the “Evaluation of Publication Quality of the China-Grown English Periodicals Issued in 2009, Sanctioned from 2005 to 2009”, and proposes solutions to the problems presented therein.

Abstract:Chinese publishing science has its own theoretical origins and unique characteristics. Since 1970s, publishing as a science has grown up rapidly in China. This paper presents a structured overview of Chinese publishing research in its full historical depth and thematic breadth. It first introduces a brief history of publishing science in China, and then identifies the main characteristics and key areas of research. Consistent with the divide in social research, the debate between positivistic and naturalistic paradigms has also characterized the development of global publishing science. The interpretivist paradigm of Chinese publishing research leads to unique research subjects and methods. The subjects, on the one hand, are more focused on meta-theory. Theory building and integration has been the main goal in the past three decades. The methods, on the other hand, have been generally qualitative, including historical, interpretive, and critical analysis. Current key research areas include theoretical construction of publishing science, history of publishing, cultural studies of publishing, publishing economics, digital publishing and copyright. This paper also discusses the challenges facing publishing researchers in China and their possible solutions.

Abstract:The researches have thrived since 2000 and many books and articles of excellent quality have been published during the first decade of 21 century.The system and the basic conception of publishing history have been improved largely.Chinese professional circle has issued many good books with great importance,such as the books about general publishing history,dynastic publishing history and publishing chorography;the modern publishing history has been a hotspot of researching;scholars work over the study of the publishing history deeply and try to use theories and methodologies of other subjects;many articles and monographs have been done around the culture history of publishing;the western reading history brings some new ideas to Chinese scholars,and a lot of researches have been made about developments in the foreign countries;the publishing history of People's Republic of China has been achieving much attention from 2008.In the future,a new perspective from the world civilization history will help people have a better understanding of the Chinese publishing history.

Abstract:With the continuous development of information technology in China, the era of digital publishing has arrived, overthrowing the traditional publishing paradigm. Compared with mass publications and professional publications, teaching research publications are unique. In the field of education, they play a guiding role in the teaching work and in promoting the development of education in China. The editorial work of teaching research publications should be innovated in the digital era. In order to ensure the dissemination value and depth of content of teaching research publications, as well as to provide high-quality publications with leading value for money, editorial transformation and work innovation should be carried out in time, taking into account the characteristics of the digital era. This paper makes a detailed analysis of the existing problems in the editorial work of teaching research publications to propose innovative strategies for the editorial work of teaching research publications in the digital era.

Abstract:Promoting citizens’ film literacy has become vital in enhancing public media literacy in today’s ever-changing media environment. The public dissemination of film education has gradually become an established trend in China. At present, film education in mainland China focuses on the development of both film appreciation and creativity, involves a wide range of individuals and diverse educational methods, and spreads primarily across three areas: (1) university education; (2) primary and secondary education; and (3) public education. Despite this, teaching activities remain widely dispersed, regional development lacks balance, and there is a shortage of film and television production courses. This article argues that school-based film education in China should focus upon improving the curriculum system, improving the quality of teachers, and developing courses focused on creativity, while more socially focused film education outside of schools should focus upon establishing industry norms and encouraging healthy competition between institutions.

Abstract:This conversation between two documentary film educators in China, one born in China and one born in the U.S., explores how the different definitions and concepts of what constitutes a documentary film impact creative collaborations between film students in China and other countries participating in the Looking China short documentary film program. With rapid advances in digital technology and an internet that enables instantaneous global distribution, new styles of documentary film are galloping ahead apace, widening the gap in definition of documentary film between China and countries with a more expansive understanding and practice. The discussants share experiences teaching documentary film in China, and discuss the debate about what constitutes a documentary, documentary ethics and artistic integrity. They propose approaches for a more holistic film education.

Abstract:In order to optimize the resource allocation of the traditional publishing industry in the new media era, it is proposed to integrate the traditional publishing and digital publishing industries to solve the problem of unbalanced resource distribution under dual-track conditions. Professional talents with innovative entrepreneurial ability and psychology in colleges and universities are cultivated to promote the integration and reform process of the publishing industry under the background of new media art. First, the study analyzes the digital reform issues facing the development of the publishing industry in the new media era. Second, in view of the development situation of the publishing industry in the Yangtze River Delta, it is proposed to establish a development model of integrated publishing in the Yangtze River Delta through resource allocation. Then, under the new media art form, the teaching mode of creative and entrepreneurial talents training in art colleges and universities is optimized to cultivate students' innovative ability and entrepreneurial positive psychology. The research results show that the number of books printed in Shanghai in the Yangtze River Delta is 13,000 types per year, and the number is still rising; however, periodicals and newspapers are affected by the new media industry, and the number of publications is declining. The printing volume has dropped by 50% in 9years; the questionnaire survey results show that 68% of the students are very interested in entrepreneurial activities, but 53% of the students have not carried out entrepreneurial activities at all, indicating that the students' entrepreneurial ability is insufficient. The results provide a reference for studying the reform direction of the publishing industry and cultivating entrepreneurial talents in the context of new media.

Abstract:This article analyzes the current situation of journal editing and publishing in the new media era and proposes relevant innovative strategy suggestions. It first analyzes the challenges faced by traditional journal editing and publishing, including low efficiency in information dissemination and outdated content formats. Then it discusses the opportunities brought by the new media era, such as real-time publishing and social media promotion. It also puts forward innovative pathways, including introducing new media technologies, expanding content expression methods, and strengthening academic exchanges and collaborations. Specific measures and suggestions are provided for enhancing the new media literacy of editorial teams, strengthening academic integrity and quality management, and optimizing the knowledge service functions of journals.
