Abstract:This paper studies an impulsive nonautonomous two species predator-prey Lotka-Volterra type dispersal system in a patchy environment, in which the prey species can disperse among n different patches, but the predator species is confined to one patch and cannot disperse. On the basis of inequality estimation techniques and the comparison theory of impulsive differential equations, sufficient conditions of integrable form for the permanence and extinction are obtained. Abstract:We study a single-species periodic logistic type dispersal system in a patchy environment with impulses. On the basis of inequality estimation technique, sufficient conditions of integrable form for the permanence and extinction of the system are obtained. By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function, conditions for the existence of a unique globally attractively positive periodic solution are also established. Numerical examples are shown to verify the validity of our results and to further discuss the model.

Abstract:In this paper, a non-autonomous predator-prey patchy system with Bedding-type functional response and time delay is investigated. It is shown that the system is permanent under some appropriate conditions. By using Gaines and Mawhin's continuation theorem of coincidence degree theory, a set of easily verifiable sufficient conditions are obtained to guarantee the existence of positive periodic solutions of the system.

Abstract:In most models of population dynamics, diffusion between two patches is assumed to be either continuous or discrete. However, in the real world, it is often the case that diffusion occurs at certain moment every year, impulsive diffusion can provide a more suitable manner to model the actual dispersal (or migration) behaviors for many ecological species. In addition, it is generally recognized that some kinds of time delays are inevitable in population interactions. In view of these facts, a delayed predator–prey system with impulsive diffusion between two patches is proposed. By using comparison theorem of impulsive differential equation and some analysis techniques, criteria on the global attractivity of predator-extinction periodic solution are established, sufficient conditions for the permanence of system are obtained. Finally, numerical simulations are presented to illustrate our theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider a nonautonomous two-species impulsive competitive system with infinite delays. By the impulsive comparison theorem and some mathematical analysis, we investigate the permanence, extinction and global attractivity of the system, as well as the influence of impulse perturbation on the dynamic behaviors of this system. For the logistic type impulsive equation with infinite delay, our results improve those of Xuxin Yang, Weibing Wang and Jianhua Shen [Permanence of a logistic type impulsive equation with infinite delay, Applied Mathematics Letters, 24(2011), 420-427]. For the corresponding nonautonomous two-species impulsive competitive system without delays, we discuss its permanence, extinction and global attractivity, which weaken and complement the results of Zhijun Liu and Qinglong Wang [An almost periodic competitive system subject to impulsive perturbations, Applied Mathematics and Computation, 231(2014), 377-385].

Abstract:In this paper, a periodic n-species Gilpin–Ayala competition system with impulses is studied. By constructing a suitable Lyapunov function and using the comparison theorem of impulsive differential equations, a set of sufficient conditions which guarantee that some species in the system are permanent and globally attractive while the remaining species are driven to extinction are obtained. Our results show that the dynamic behaviors of the system we considered are quite different from the corresponding system without impulses.

Abstract:In this paper, we consider the effect of diffusion on the permanence and extinction of a non-autonomous nonlinear growth rate single-species dispersal model with time delays. Firstly, the sufficient conditions of the permanence and extinction of the species are established, which shows if the growth rate and dispersal coefficients is suitable, the species is permanent, on the contrary, it is extinction. Secondly, an interesting result is established, that is, if only the species in some patches even in one patch is permanent, then it is also permanent in other patches. Finally, some examples together with their numerical simulations show the feasibility of our main results.

Abstract:This paper is purported to investigate an impulsive diffusion predator-prey system in three-species with Beddington-DeAngelis response in a bounded domain with no flux boundary condition. Employing the upper and lower solution method and compare theory, we investigate the sufficient conditions of the upper ultimate boundedness and permanence of this system which imply that impulse always changes the situation of survival for species. The conditions for the existence of unique globally stable positive periodic solution are also obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we investigate a n-patches nonautonomous predator-prey system with nonlinear diffusion. By the comparison theorem, the sufficient conditions are derived for uniform persistence of the system. We also prove the existence of positive periodic solution of the system by using Schauder's fixed point theorem. Furthermore, the sufficient conditions for global asymptotical stability of positive periodic solution are obtained by constructing an appropriate Lyapunov function. The conditions we obtained are more general. We also give the ecology interpretation to our results.

Abstract:An ODE system modeling the competition between two species in a two-patch environment is studied. Both species move between the patches with the same dispersal rate. It is shown that the species with larger birth rates in both patches drives the other species to extinction, regardless of the dispersal rate. The more interesting case is when both species have the same average birth rate but each species has larger birth rate in one patch. It has previously been conjectured by Gourley and Kuang that the species that can concentrate its birth in a single patch wins if the diffusion rate is large enough, and two species will coexist if the diffusion rate is small. We solve these two conjectures by applying the monotone dynamics theory, incorporated with a complete characterization of the positive equilibrium and a thorough analysis on the stability of the semi-trivial equilibria with respect to the dispersal rate. Our result on the winning strategy for sufficiently large dispersal rate might explain the group breeding behavior that is observed in some animals under certain ecological conditions.

Abstract:By applying the comparison theorem, Lyapunov functional, and almost periodic functional hull theory of the impulsive differential equations, this paper gives some new sufficient conditions for the uniform persistence, global asymptotical stability, and almost periodic solution to a nonautonomous Lotka-Volterra predator-prey dispersal system with impulsive effects. The main results of this paper extend some corresponding results obtained in recent years. The method used in this paper provides a possible method to study the uniform persistence, global asymptotical stability, and almost periodic solution of the models with impulsive perturbations in biological populations.MSC:34K14, 34K20, 34K45, 92D25.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a discrete Gilpin–Ayala competition model and a discrete Gilpin–Ayala type multispecies competition–predator model. For general nonautonomous case, sufficient conditions which ensure the permanence and the global stability of the system are obtained; For periodic case, sufficient conditions which ensure the existence of an unique globally stable positive periodic solution of the system are obtained. An example together with its numeric simulations shows the feasibility of the main results.

By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local stability of each of the nonnegative equilibria is discussed.
