Facing the challenge and building excellent course:constructing the course of engineering materials under the condition of reducing the class hours

Abstract:Here the early developing process of the syllabus building and textbook editing of engineering materials in China has been introduced, together with the recent progress of the course building under the condition of reducing class hours for the national excellent course of engineering materials in Tsinghua university. In order to meet the requirement of reducing class hours without reducing the teaching quality from the university, we have strengthened the teaching on the key topics of the course, improved the teaching through website,strengthened the experimental training and innovation activity, reformed the examination, and so on. As a result, good teaching quality of the course has been achieved.
