Abstract:An introduction to the pioneering neurological researches into aesthetic activities conducted by Zeki,Solso and so on was presented,and a discussion of their significance to aesthetics followed.Neuro-aesthetics uncovers underlying neural mechanisms in aesthetic activities,providing an indispensable basis for the reonstruction of aesthetical theories in the 21st century.The neurological study on aesthetic process opens up a promising direction for aesthetics,and deserves the mutual concern of neurologists and aestheticians.
