Research on Social Function and Cultural Connotation of A Tibetan Traditional Sport "Eerduo"

Abstract:The research was brought about collectively by three scientific methods including field survey,expert interview and documents consultation.Analyzed in depth in the research are social function and cultural connotation of Eerduo – a Tibetan traditional sport.The result shows that Eerduo,which is one constructive force to make Tibetan cultural integrity,combines into a whole with its practicability,its technological capability,and its quality of sport.Therefore,Eerduo is collective wisdom of Tibetan people.It calls for effective protection by all means and it needs tentative exploitation in every possible way to extend its glory and beauty.This exploitative effort should be done with emphasis laid upon its sport competitiveness and technological capability;while the conservative and inheriting effort should be made through manipulating its technology capability and recognizing its using skill.
