Abstract:A kind of robot HLDR-I applied to electrified checking up the defects of 220 kV brace porcelain insulator was introduced.This system involves mainly the rise-fall system,the mechanical detection system,the control and communication system and the insulation defending system etc..This robot integrated many-sided technologies of high tension insulation,ultrasonic crack detection,structural design,compound insulation materials,automatic control and wireless communication etc..The experimental operative situation of HLDR-I robot showed that its performance could satisfy the demand of design.
