Interventions in Reasonable Use of Antibiotics During Perioperative Period of Type Ⅰ Incision Surgery in 2005-2012

Abstract:OBJECTIVE To compare the prophylactic use of antibiotics during the perioperative period of type Ⅰ incision before and after taking continuous basic interventions and the comprehensive interventions,to explore the feasibility of the programs for the reasonable use of antibiotics so as to improve the reasonable use of antibiotics.METHODS The various indicators that reflected the application of antibiotics were compared and studied between the stage Ⅰ from Apr 2005 to Apr 2010(the basic intervention) and stage Ⅱ from Apr 2011 to Apr 2012(the comprehensive intervention).RESULTS In stage Ⅰ after the intervention,the timing for the perioperative prophylactic use of the antibiotics was rational with the course of treatment,dropping from 6.7 days before the intervention to 4.7days after the intervention.In stage Ⅱ after the strict comprehensive intervention,the timing for rational drug use and ‘zero’ rate for prophylactic use of the antibiotics in interventional procedures reached the standard rate of 100.0%.The percentage of antibiotic use decreased from 90.0% to 57.9%,the course of drug treatment decreased from 4.5 days to 2.1 days,the drug combination rate decreasing from 47.0% to 2.3%,while the percentage of the reasonable selection of drugs increased from 1.9% to 50.0%,the incidence of the surgical site infections was 0.CONCLUSION To take comprehensive interventions has improved the rational use of antibiotics during perioperative period,actively promoting the safe,effective,and economical use of antibiotics.
