Agriculture Application Feasibility of Sewage Sludge from Typical Wastewater Treatment Plants in North China

Abstract:Sewage sludge contains abundant plant nutrition,which could improve the physical and chemical character of the soil while applying sewage sludge into the crop land and increase the yields.Land application of sewage sludge not only avoiding the second pollution to the environment,also realizing the resourced,harmless,stabilization,and decreased disposal purpose.In this study,the sewage sludge from four typical wastewater treatment plants in north China is taken as the sample,the data of the sludge from 2007 to 2008 is collected.The analysis results of the main components in the sludge are compared with the national standards in order to get the conclusion on the feasibility,so the scientific basis and the effective ways for the reuse of the sewage sludge can be obtained.
