Abstract:China’s service trade competitive advantage is concentrated in traditional service industry;and China’s modern service industry is still in a relatively inferior position. In recent years,the competitive advantage of telecommunications, computer and information service has been enhanced gradually,and that of travel service has been weakened. From the top 10 countries in terms of the development level of service industry and openness,the first factor that has the most significant influence on the openness of service industry is FDI;the next one is the undertaking of offshore service outsourcing;and then is the import and export of service trade. There are some problems with China’s service industry openness,such as the concentration of foreign investment in real estate industry,the small scale of service outsourcing enterprises,and the concentration of contract awarding regions. So, we should, first, accelerate the development of technology- intensive service industry and improve the competitiveness of service trade;second,we should promote the openness of service industry and rationally guide the flow of foreign capital;third,we should enhance the strength of modern service trade department and promote the restructuring of service trade;and fourth,we should undertake the offshore outsourcing of service trade and promote the transformation of economic growth pattern of foreign trade.
