Abstract:Since land distribution to peasant household, especially since the mid and late 1990s, with the construction of state power, the penetration of the market economy, China's rural society has changed dramatically. Television began to enter every household in the countryside. As one kind of unprecedented modern technical appliance, television played an important role in the dramatic changes taking place in rural society. This paper intends to explore de-collectivization in rural communities, an important issue in the reform and opening-up policy, from the perspective of the relationship between the dramatic changes and television. Specifically, it covers rural governance, the nature of village and human relations in the illustration of such relationship. The discussion will mainly focus on the relationship between television and the rural community life as a whole, aiming to improve people’s understanding of the internal relations between television and regional rural governance and rural life.
