Abstract:This paper completes the construction of $p$-adic $L$-functions for unitary groups. More precisely, in Harris, Li and Skinner [‘$p$-adic $L$-functions for unitary Shimura varieties. I. Construction of the Eisenstein measure’, Doc. Math.Extra Vol. (2006), 393–464 (electronic)], three of the authors proposed an approach to constructing such $p$-adic $L$-functions (Part I). Building on more recent results, including the first named author’s construction of Eisenstein measures and $p$-adic differential operators [Eischen, ‘A $p$-adic Eisenstein measure for unitary groups’, J. Reine Angew. Math.699 (2015), 111–142; ‘$p$-adic differential operators on automorphic forms on unitary groups’, Ann. Inst. Fourier (Grenoble)62(1) (2012), 177–243], Part II of the present paper provides the calculations of local $\unicode[STIX]{x1D701}$-integrals occurring in the Euler product (including at $p$). Part III of the present paper develops the formalism needed to pair Eisenstein measures with Hida families in the setting of the doubling method.

Abstract:We prove that the g-function operator g(phi), where 0 (x) = h (I x 1) Q (x) with Omega(x) = Omega(x') is an element of H-1(Sn-1) and h(s) satisfing certain continuity hypothesis, is bounded on Triebel-Lizorkin space F-p(alpha,q)(R-n) when 0 < a < 1 and 1 < p, q < infinity. In particular, we get that the Marcinkiewicz integral operator mu(Omega) with H-1-kernel is bounded on F-p(alpha,q).
Rankin-Selberg L-Functions for GSpin x GL Groups

Abstract:We construct an integral representation for the global Rankin-Selberg (partial) $L$-function $L(s, \pi \times \tau)$ where $\pi$ is an irreducible globally generic cuspidal automorphic representation of a general spin group (over an arbitrary number field) and $\tau$ is one of a general linear group, generalizing the works of Gelbart, Piatetski-Shapiro, Rallis, Ginzburg, Soudry and Kaplan among others. We consider all ranks and both even and odd general spin groups including the quasi-split forms. The resulting facts about the location of poles of $L(s, \pi \times \tau)$ have, in particular, important consequences in describing the image of the Langlands funtorial transfer from the general spin groups to general linear groups.

Abstract:Let {Pt}t>0 be the classical Poisson semigroup on Rd and GP the associated Littlewood-Paley g-function operator:GP(f)=(∫0∞t|∂∂tPt(f)|2dt)12. The classical Littlewood-Paley g-function inequality asserts that for any 1<p<∞ there exist two positive constants Lt,pP and Lc,pP such that(Lt,pP)−1‖f‖p≤‖GP(f)‖p≤Lc,pP‖f‖p,f∈Lp(Rd). We determine the optimal orders of magnitude on p of these constants as p→1 and p→∞. We also consider similar problems for more general test functions in place of the Poisson kernel.The corresponding problem on the Littlewood-Paley dyadic square function inequality is investigated too. Let Δ be the partition of Rd into dyadic rectangles and SR the partial sum operator associated to R. The dyadic Littlewood-Paley square function of f isSΔ(f)=(∑R∈Δ|SR(f)|2)12. For 1<p<∞ there exist two positive constants Lc,p,dΔ and Lt,p,dΔ such that(Lt,p,dΔ)−1‖f‖p≤‖SΔ(f)‖p≤Lc,p,dΔ‖f‖p,f∈Lp(Rd). New Multilinear Littlewood--Paley $g_λ^{*}$ Function and Commutator on weighted Lebesgue Spaces

Abstract:Via the new weight function $A_{\vec p}^{\theta }(\varphi )$, the authors introduce a new class of multilinear Littlewood--Paley $g_{\lambda}^{*}$ functions and establish the boundedness on weighted Lebesgue spaces. In addition, the authors obtain the boundedness of the multilinear commutator and multilinear iterated commutator generated by the multilinear Littlewood--Paley $g_{\lambda}^{*}$ function and the new $BMO$ function on weighted Lebesgue spaces. The results in this article include the known results in \cite{XY2015,SXY2014}. When $m=1$, that is, in the case of one-linear, our conclusions are also new, further extending the results in \cite{S1961}.

Abstract:Let L = − Δ H n + μ be a generalized Schrödinger operator on the Heisenberg group H n , where Δ H n is the sub-Laplacian, and μ is a nonnegative Radon measure satisfying certain conditions. In this paper, we first establish some estimates of the fundamental solution and the heat kernel of L. Applying these estimates, we then study the Hardy spaces H L 1 ( H n ) introduced in terms of the maximal function associated with the heat semigroup e − t L ; in particular, we obtain an atomic decomposition of H L 1 ( H n ) , and prove the Riesz transform characterization of H L 1 ( H n ) . The dual space of H L 1 ( H n ) is also studied.

Abstract:In this paper we first prove a number of important inequalities with explicit constants in the setting of the Heisenberg group. This includes the fractional and integer Sobolev, Gagliardo-Nirenberg, (weighted) Hardy-Sobolev, Nash inequalities, and their logarithmic versions. In the case of the first order Sobolev inequality, our constant recovers the sharp constant of Jerison and Lee. Remarkably, we also establish the analogue of the Gross inequality with a semi-probability measure on the Heisenberg group that allows -- as it happens in the Euclidean setting -- an extension to infinite dimensions, and particularly can be regarded as an inequality on the infinite dimensional $\mathbb{H}^{\infty}$. Finally, we prove the so-called generalised Poincaré inequality on the Heisenberg group both with respect to the aforementioned semi-probability measure and the Haar measure, also with explicit constants.

Abstract:We construct four-variable $p$-adic $L$-functions for cuspidal Hida families on ${\rm GSp}(4)\times{\rm GL}(2)$ and prove a complete interpolation formula. The archimedean zeta integrals are computed by using a partial interpolation formula for the four-variable $p$-adic $L$-functions and some previously constructed $p$-adic $L$-functions.

Abstract:We present a Rankin-Selberg integral on the exceptional group $G_2$ which represents the L-function for generic cuspidal representations of $\widetilde{SL}_2\times GL_2$. As an application, we show that certain Fourier-Jacobi type periods on $G_2$ are non-vanishing.

Gan--Gross--Prasad cycles and derivatives of $p$-adic $L$-functions

Abstract:We study the p-adic analogue of the arithmetic Gan-Gross-Prasad (GGP) conjectures for unitary groups. Let $\Pi$ be a hermitian cuspidal automorphic representation of GL_{n} x GL_{n+1} over a CM field, which is algebraic of minimal regular weight at infinity. We first show the rationality of twists of the ratio of L-values of $\Pi$ appearing in the GGP conjectures. Then, when $\Pi$ is p-ordinary at a prime p, we construct a cyclotomic p-adic L-function $L_p(M_\Pi)$ interpolating those twists. Finally, under some local assumptions, we prove a precise formula relating the first derivative of $L_p(M_\Pi)$ to the p-adic heights of Selmer classes arising from arithmetic diagonal cycles on unitary Shimura varieties. We deduce applications to the p-adic Beilinson-Bloch-Kato conjecture for the motive attached to $\Pi$. All proofs are based on some relative-trace formulas in p-adic coefficients.

Abstract:In this paper, using the method of stationary phase, we obtain the uniform asymptotic behavior of the Poisson kernel, associated to the canonical sub-Laplacian as well as the full Laplacian, on Heisenberg-type groups ℍ ( 2n, m ) . We prove that there exists a constant C > 0 , independent of (n, m), such that ‖ M_K ‖ _L^1 → L^1, ∞≤ C n , where M_K denotes the centered Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator defined by the Korányi norm. While for M = M_CC or M_R , the corresponding operator related to the canonical sub-Riemannian and Riemannian distance respectively, we obtain ‖ M ‖ _L^1 → L^1, ∞≤ C ( 3 / 2 )^ m / 2 n . In particular, we provide an affirmative answer to the question left open in Li and Qian (Trans Am Math Soc 366:1497–1524, 2014) [22] by means of a much simpler method. Besides, these bounds are perfectly matched with the associated Green function. Furthermore, the ( 3 / 2 )^ m / 2 n order bound remains uniformly valid, whenever the canonical Sub-Riemannian or Riemannian distance are replaced by a large class of Carnot-Carathéodory distances.

Abstract:Let f be in the localized nonisotropic Sobolev space W^1,p_loc( ℍ^n) on the n -dimensional Heisenberg group ℍ n = ℂ n × ℝ, where 1 = p < Q and Q = 2 n + 2 is the homogeneous dimension of ℍ n . Suppose that the subelliptic gradient is gloablly L p integrable, i.e., ∫_ℍ^n| ∇ _ℍ^n f|^p du is finite. We prove a Poincaré inequality for f on the entire space ℍ n . Using this inequality we prove that the function f subtracting a certain constant is in the nonisotropic Sobolev space formed by the completion of C^∞_0( ℍ^n) under the norm of ( ∫_ℍ^n| f |^Qp/Q - p)^Q - p/Qp + ( ∫_ℍ^n| ∇ _ℍ^n f|^p)^1/p . We will also prove that the best constants and extremals for such Poincaré inequalities on ℍ n are the same as those for Sobolev inequalities on ℍ n . Using the results of Jerison and Lee on the sharp constant and extremals for L 2 to L2Q/Q - 2 Sobolev inequality on the Heisenberg group, we thus arrive at the explicit best constant for the aforementioned Poincaré inequality on ℍ n when p = 2. We also derive the lower bound of the best constants for local Poincaré inequalities over metric balls on the Heisenberg group ℍ n .

Abstract:We establish Littlewood–Paley characterizations of the Sobolev spaces Wα,p in Euclidean spaces using several square functions defined via the spherical average, the ball average, the Bochner–Riesz means and some other well known operators. We provide a simple proof so that we are able to extend and improve many results published in recent papers.
Conformally invariant differential operators on Heisenberg groups and minimal representations

Abstract:For a simple real Lie group $G$ with Heisenberg parabolic subgroup $P$, we study the corresponding degenerate principal series representations. For a certain induction parameter the kernel of the conformally invariant system of second order differential operators constructed by Barchini, Kable and Zierau is a subrepresentation which turns out to be the minimal representation. To study this subrepresentation, we take the Heisenberg group Fourier transform in the non-compact picture and show that it yields a new realization of the minimal representation on a space of $L^2$-functions. The Lie algebra action is given by differential operators of order $\leq3$ and we find explicit formulas for the functions constituting the lowest $K$-type. These $L^2$-models were previously known for the groups $\operatorname{SO}(n,n)$, $E_{6(6)}$, $E_{7(7)}$ and $E_{8(8)}$ by Kazhdan and Savin, for the group $G_{2(2)}$ by Gelfand, and for the group $\widetilde{\operatorname{SL}}(3,\mathbb{R})$ by Torasso, using different methods. Our new approach provides a uniform and systematic treatment of these cases and also constructs new $L^2$-models for $E_{6(2)}$, $E_{7(-5)}$ and $E_{8(-24)}$ for which the minimal representation is a continuation of the quaternionic discrete series, and for the groups $\widetilde{\operatorname{SO}}(p,q)$ with either $p\geq q=3$ or $p,q\geq4$ and $p+q$ even. As a byproduct of our construction, we find an explicit formula for the group action of a non-trivial Weyl group element that, together with the simple action of a parabolic subgroup, generates $G$.
