Abstract:The vector map is directly getten by ARX application programmed based on MFC. Elevation contour map is rasterized by an efficaciously improved linear intra-interpolation algorithm which avoids the phenomenon of flat top in the general intra-interpolation algorithm. Region is rasterized by an improved ordered list polygon scan conversion algorithm. In the last place, an vector map rasterizing system is accomplished by utilizing these technologies, and it is proved by rasterizing a city vector map that the system is efficacious and satisfy practical engineerings need.

Abstract:Aiming at the new problems in current data conversion of the chart symbol,this paper makes the chart symbols based on ArcInfo and MicroStation and proposes a data conversion method of the chart symbol from ArcInfo to MicroStation.Experimental result shows that the proposed method solves the conversion problems of the new chart symbol and realizes the smooth conversion from ArcInfo to MicroStation,and offers reference for consummating the chart symbol and improving work efficiency.

Abstract:Nowadays,spatial database is the most important way of storing and organizing vector data in GIS applications.While the raster data,which is also a major source of spatial information,is primarily stored as data files because of the intrinsic complexity and huge size.Some GIS and database software vendors began to support raster data in their database products,but only data storage and organization is concerned.Currently,there is not an accepted standard specification for the integrated operation on vector and raster data,although some pilot studies have been taken in recent years.In this paper,the characteristics of vector and raster data were analyzed,and a series of vector-raster integrated functions were given,then a prototype system was built based on PostgreSQL/PostGIS.Lastly,the problem-solving ability of such a database extension was discussed.

Abstract:A novel method for vectorizing construction engineering drawing images is presented. The method consists of two algorithms: a seed-segment based line-network vectorization algorithm and a knowledge-supported vectorization algorithm designed specially for construction engineering drawings. The seed-segment based algorithm converts a line wholly and a line network globally so that both the quality and speed are satisfied. The knowledge supported vectorization algorithm takes full use of the features and rules of construction engineering drawings to solve the difficulties of vectorization caused by noises and degradations. The performance of this method is discussed at the end of this paper.

Abstract:Geo-information network service has become more and more popular,however the practical application of vector data service has lots of problems.Existing vector data service interface standard(such as WFS) is too simple,which doesn't meet the complex practical application.In allusion to the situation,a spatial vector data service model was designed based on WCF data contract.Considering the low efficiency of processing large data stream by traditional technology of web service,a method based on WCF channel compressed encoder was proposed.At the same time,the security of vector data transmission was guaranteed based on internal security mode of WCF.

Abstract:The algorithm of Raster Detection Plus Vector Calculation is oneof the high effective method for processing of GIS′s vector intersection. Starting from the view of economizing in memory and increasing operation speed, the authors improved the rasterization method by thoughts of RLE (Running Length Encoding), that makes it practicable to apply algorithm on large-scale vector datum. Abstract:Proposed a new efficient algorithm for vectorization of remote sensing raster data, which traverses the raster data sequentially using scan line method, organizes the Pixel Edge using the linked list technique to constitute region boundaries dynamically, and determines the ownership of isolated island using hidden ray method. This approach could converts the raster spot into the vector region directly by making use of the spatial information implied in the arrangement of pixels in the raster data. It could obtain the complete vector information of region by traversing the raster data only once without any intermediate data and some other operations like constructing topological relationship of polygons. Experimental results show that the approach is more efficient and easy to implement.

A Robust and Efficient Method for Vector Map Overlay

Abstract:Robust and efficient internal memory algorithm for vector map overlay is proposed.The algorithm employs the plane sweep idea improved from the traditional plane sweep algorithm to calculate the intersection points,by which all the special cases are handled properly.Then rings of the results are constructed by the intersection points and the information,and original rings with no intersection point are ignored or added to the result as outer rings(contour) or holes.All the generated rings have ID information,which simplifies the following two processes-finding the matching outer ring for each hole and attributes propagation.With this algorithm,we can determine all the intersection points for any overlay operation immediately,not by a one to one loop.We implemented the algorithm,and the comparisons with the one-by-one method(using spatial access method) demonstrated its efficiency.Besides,we implemented the whole function(including the algorithm and the necessary processes of reading data from and writing data to the disk),and compared it with ESRI's ArcGIS,by which correctness and efficiency of our approach are demonstrated.

Abstract:Vectorized high-definition (HD) map is essential for autonomous driving, providing detailed and precise environmental information for advanced perception and planning. However, current map vectorization methods often exhibit deviations, and the existing evaluation metric for map vectorization lacks sufficient sensitivity to detect these deviations. To address these limitations, we propose integrating the philosophy of rasterization into map vectorization. Specifically, we introduce a new rasterization-based evaluation metric, which has superior sensitivity and is better suited to real-world autonomous driving scenarios. Furthermore, we propose MapVR (Map Vectorization via Rasterization), a novel framework that applies differentiable rasterization to vectorized outputs and then performs precise and geometry-aware supervision on rasterized HD maps. Notably, MapVR designs tailored rasterization strategies for various geometric shapes, enabling effective adaptation to a wide range of map elements. Experiments show that incorporating rasterization into map vectorization greatly enhances performance with no extra computational cost during inference, leading to more accurate map perception and ultimately promoting safer autonomous driving.

Abstract:With the rapid development of remote sensing technology, the integration of raster data and vector data becomes more and more important. Raster data models are used in tessellation spaces and vector data models are used in discrete spaces respectively. The relationships between tessellation space and discrete space have to be established for integrated data models. The minimum cells where both raster and vector data could be processed have to be defined. As it is very easy to establish relationships between vector points and corresponding raster cells, we defined those raster cells as Code-Points, the minimum cells where both raster and vector data could be processed. All vector elements such as lines, faces and bodies are composed directly or indirectly of Code-Points. This can be done by using interpolation algorithms to Code-Points in real-time. We have developed an integrated data model based on above procedures. In addition, we have developed a geometric primitive library for 3- Dimensional objects in order to improve the processing speed. This library could be hardware realized as a graphic accelerator card. If the conversion beiween vector and raster could be done in real time, ihe integraied data model could be used for operational integration of remote sensing and GIS.

Abstract:In order to realize the digitalization and visualization of information management in agricultural-region, a VRGIS-based digital agricultural region management system (VDARMS) was developed with Super Map 2008 as the platform of spatial information management, VRMap 3.0 as the driver of scene, and integrating with the existing knowledge model for crop management. This system realized the functions as file management, spatial handling, information query, data analysis, cultural management plan design, virtual simulation, and system maintenance, etc. Case studies of the system were carried out in Heheng village of Jiangyan city and Qinglong village of Nanjing city, Jiangsu province, China, the application results indicated that VDARMS accorded with the development of modern agricultural spatial information management, realized standard, digital management and visual display of agricultural information, and greatly promoted the development of digital agriculture technology.

Abstract:Vector to raster conversion has always been one of the foundational research topics in the field of Geographical Information System. With the development of processing for massive geospatial data, traditional serial algorithms can not satisfy the need of effective rastering of large amounts of vector data. This paper proposes a parallel algorithm of rasterization for vector polygon based on data parallel which is improved on the basis of scanline algorithm of polygon rasterization, and implements the parallel algorithm using the C++ programming language and the Message Passing Interface(MPI). We test the parallel algorithm by experiments and analyses the parallel efficiency. Results show that the parallel algorithm proposed in this paper achieves high parallel speedup and efficiency.

Abstract:Map overlay is an important spatial analysis in geographic information systems (GIS). First, it finds out intersection points of line segments, then uses the matching principle of import-export intersection point to form the result arcs and further realizes the dual-loop algorithm of polygon-on-polygon and line-on-polygon overlay analysis. The original quad-tree indexing structure is improved to handle space split and node assignment, resulting in enhancing the computation speed. This algorithm has been applied to the software development of commercial geographic information systems.

Abstract:The fusion of multi-source data is essential for a comprehensive analysis of geographic applications. Due to distinct data structures, the fusion process tends to encounter technical difficulties in terms of preservation of the intactness of each source data. Furthermore, a lack of generalized methods is a problem when the method is expected to be applicable in multiple resolutions, sizes, or scales of raster and vector data, to what is being processed. In this study, we propose a general algorithm of assigning features from raster data (concentrations of air pollutants) to vector components (roads represented by edges) in city maps through the iterative construction of virtual layers to expand geolocation from a city centre to boundaries in a 2D projected map. The construction follows the rule of perfect squares with a slight difference depending on the oddness or evenness of the ratio of city size to raster resolution. We demonstrate the algorithm by applying it to assign accurate PM$_{2.5}$ and NO$_{2}$ concentrations to roads in 1692 cities globally for a potential graph-based pollution analysis. This method could pave the way for agile studies on urgent climate issues by providing a generic and efficient method to accurately fuse multiple datasets of varying scales and compositions.
