ASSOCIATION BETWEEN LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN RECEPTOR GENE POLYMORPHISM AND ESSENTIAL HYPERTENSION IN YANBIAN KOREAN-CHINESE POPULATIONS

Abstract:[Objective]To study the relationship between the C1773T polymorphism in exon 12 of the low density lipoprotein receptor(LDLR)gene and essential hypertension(EH)in Yanbian Korean-Chinese populations.[Methods]We enrolled 122 EH patients and 146 healthy individuals.More than 10 clinical biochemical indicators were measured.PCR-SSCP and DNA sequencing were used to test LDLR genotypes.ANOVA,χ2 test were used for analysis of data.[Results]The frequency of C allele in EH group(89.34%)was obviously higher than that in normal group(80.47%),and there was a statistical significance(P﹤0.05).The body mass index(BMI),body fat rate in EH group were higher than in control group,but the level of plasma adiponectin in EH group was less than in control group(P﹤0.05).[Conclusion]There is significantly associated between the C1773T polymorphism in exon 12 of the LDLR gene and EH in Yanbian Korean-Chinese populations.The allele C could be considered as a risk gene in the progression of EH in Yanbian Korean-Chinese.The higher BMI and body fat rate,and the lower plasma adiponectin are important risk factors with EH in Yanbian Korean-Chinese populations.
