Abstract:In order to meet the demand of realizing the speaker-independent speech recognition on the embedded system, a embedded speech recognition system in discrete hidden Markov model (DHMM) is proposed. The software architecture of the recognition software part running on embedded system and the training software part running on PC system are designed. According to features of TMS320VC5509A processor, the recognition software on embedded system is implemented and optimized. Also it is presented that the Viterbi algorithm is optimized on the basis of the irreversible characteristics of the speech signal. Experiments show the real-time response speed of the system achieved within 200 ms at same the recognition rate, and show its high availability.

Abstract:A speech recognition method based on characteristics of an embedded system is presented. The algorithm is based on continuous density HMM (CDHMM). To satisfy the required capability of the embedded system, the classical CDHMM is simplified. Finally, a real-time processing is achieved on the personal digital assist (PDA). In order to obtain an available equipment, a confidence measure method is suggested, which cost a little additive computation. For 610 words of the corpus, an equal-error-rate is less than 5%. And when the false reject rate is 5%, the recognition rate of in-vocabulary-speech is 95%.

Abstract:The classical speaker recognition model based on Gaussian mixture model is not suitable for real-time speaker recognition on PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) platform due to the limitation of memory and computation. Based on fix-point and principal component analysis technology, the realization of real-time text-independent speaker recognition system, which takes Mel frequency cepstral coefficients as the feature parameter, is presented. The experimental data on a people test of 19 show that, comparing with the base-line system, the training time is reduced to 1/50, testing time is reduced to 1/12, the model sized is reduced to 1/6 and that the recognition rate is 94.7%.

Abstract:After a various of comparison among possible speech processingapproaches, we present and developed a speaker recognition system(SRS). The six Chinese single vowels are selected as the test elements of our models. The computer speech analysis techniques adopted in this system include short-time power and short-time average zero-cross rate test, cepstrum analysis and linear prediction coding, which are used to detect the start-end points of speech and to get the characteristic parameters of the speaker. This system is implemented under MATLAB and Windows environment and has perfect recognition results.

Abstract:Current embedded English speech recognition systems have poor performance or high hardware resource requirements.This paper presents an embedded English command speech recognition system using the continuous density hidden Markov model and a two-pass search strategy based on a 16-bit fixed-point digital signal processing(DSP.The parameter selection algorithm and decision tree are incorporated into the phone model with data driven tying,to maximize the recognition speed and minimize the memory footprint while maintaining the recognition accuracy.Also,the phone unit set is optimized using the minimum mutual information change(MMIC algorithm.Tests on a(1 235 two-word phrases data set show that the system provides a recognition accuracy rate of(96.41% while using only 46% of real time.

Abstract:This is a small vocabulary, speaker independent, discrete word speech recognition system based on the System On Chip (SOC) philosophy. It is implemented on an 8-bit MCU (Micro Control Unit). The system adopts Linear Predictive Cepstral Coefficient (LPCC) related features followed by Vector Quantization (VQ) step as front end, and Hidden Marcov Model (HMM) as speech model. Confidence measure based on likelihood score (LLS) are given for rejection of Out-Of-Vacabulary (OOV) words. The recognition rate is improved with corrective training, and robustness is acquired by integrating confidence measure into the system. The recognition accuracy is nearly 97% with a vocabulary up to 30 phrases under normal conditions. Simple speech codec is also implemented for all speech I/O purpose.

Abstract:This paper presents an embedded English commands speech recognition system based on fixed-point DSP and establishes recognition system based on TI chip. The system uses Continuous Density Hidden Markov Model (CDHMM) and two-pass search strategy. To increase the recognition accuracy, phone models tying based on decision tree and data driven, phone model unit choosing in first stage recognition are applied in the system. The English commands speech recognition system has been realized on speech processing system on chip based on TI TMS320vc5502 fixed point DSP. When the DSP works on speed of 200MIPs, the system can provide a recognition accuracy rate of 95.4﹪ on 1235 two-word phrases recognition task with 0.46 times lower than real time and 49.5kbyte data space.

Abstract:The speaker recognition technology is an important and popular user authentication method in daily life due to its convenience,economy,and easy-to-acceptance.However the current algorithms cannot meet the real-time requirements in embedded applications.Based on the Non-Linear Partition(NLP) algorithms used in speech recognition,a novel algorithm is proposed and applied to the embedded Text-Dependent Speaker Recognition.Compared with the traditional Dynamic Time Warping(DTW) based algorithms,it achieves a good practical result in terms of real time performance.

Abstract:For the driver in the process of moving inconvenient to manually operated vehicle electronics, as well as the monopoly of foreign technology and other issues related , a framework based on DSP + MCU car speech recognition and control systems is designed. According to the embedded application environment, the corresponding recognition algorithm and the hardware architecture of DSP + MCU are chosen, in which DSP is mainly responsible for voice signal processing work, MCU is responsible for communicating with DSP and MCU to obtain recognition results after speech signal processing, as the final control instructions .The experimental results show that the hardware platform can run normally, and control the car body light on experimental bench.

Abstract:Speech recognition systems on chip (SoC) can realize simple man-machine communication and speech control, and have a bright application prospect in household appliances and various man-machine communication systems. Combined with characteristics of Chinese speech language, this paper presents a speaker dependent and independent medium and small vocabulary isolated words recognition system based on TMS320VC5507. Voice Activity Detection (VAD) algorithm based on circular buffer is implemented and dual-buffer transportation mode is used in speech recording and playing. DTW with low-dimension feature and multi-pass decoding method based on CDHMM are utilized respectively as the kernel recognition algorithms, and experiment results are reached.

Abstract:This paper discusses an embedded speech recognition system Solution with low cost and high performance,which is based on the speech recognition algorithm using a CHMM (continuous hidden Markov model).This system has acceleration modules designed by ASIC (Apphcation Specific Intergrated Circuits) and a controlling core using ARM7.The acceleration modules finish the calculation of Mahalanobis distance which consume the most part of overall speech recognition algorithm.An FPGA test shows that the system can achieve real-time performance at relatively low clock frequencies,which significantly reduces the power consumption.

Abstract:Highperformance Mandarin digital speech recognition (MDSR) systems on embedded platforms are needed by many industries such as for telecommunications and automatic control. A highperformance MDSR system was implemented on a 16bit fixedpoint DSP. The system uses the Mel frequency cepstrum coefficient parameter as the main feature parameter and the speech recognition algorithm is based on the continuous density hidden Markov model. MCE training is used for the model training to further improve the recognition accuracy. The onchip speech recognition engine employs singlestage recognition architecture, which reduces the complexity of the onchip program and reduces the sensitivity to the speech parameters. Tests show that the MDSR system provides recognition accuracy rates as high as 98.3% and each numeral recognition requires only 35 milliseconds on a 58.5 MIPS DSP.

Abstract:The design and implementation of a new speech recognition system based on private automatic branch exchange (PABX) is described. By use of a developing board of a digital signal processor (TMS320C31), a speaker independent continuous speech recognition system is implemented on WINDOW platform of PC. The system uses small functional words and digits that compose different commands of telephone exchange and produce language models of the recognition system. The system can make telephone exchange by speech commands over telephone channels. The recognition system uses an improved token passing Viterbi algorithm, which gets good recognition accurate. An rejecting recognition algorithm is developed. In the command speech the digital recognition accuracy is over 98% and the digital string (<4 character) is over 91% without rejection and over 95% with 10% rejection of utterances.

Abstract:This paper introduces a novel isolated word speech recognition system-on-chip (SoC). An Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) with a unique vector accelerator is designed in the SoC to realize Continuous density Hidden Markov Model (CHMM) recognition algorithm based on the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) feature. Due to a hardware and software co-design, the cost of the ASIC is similar to a low-cost 8bit micro controller unit (MCU). A two-stage strategy is adopted for recognizing 200-phrase and recognition accuracy rate is about 98%.

Abstract:This article uses Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) as a carrier and uses IP core to form a System on Programmable Chip (SOPC) English speech recognition system. The SOPC system uses a modular hardware system design method. Except for the independent development of the hardware acceleration module and its control module, the other modules are implemented by software or IP provided by Xilinx development tools. Hardware acceleration IP adopts a top-down design method, provides parallel operation of multiple operation components, and uses pipeline technology, which speeds up data operation, so that only one operation cycle is required to obtain an operation result. In terms of recognition algorithm, a more effective training algorithm is proposed, Genetic Continuous Hidden Markov Model (GA_CHMM), which uses genetic algorithm to directly train CHMM model. It is to find the optimal model by encoding the parameter values of the CHMM and performing operations such as selection, crossover, and mutation according to the fitness function. The optimal parameter value after decoding corresponds to the CHMM model, and then the English speech recognition is performed through the CHMM algorithm. This algorithm can save a lot of training time, thereby improving the recognition rate and speed. This paper studies the optimization of embedded system software. By studying the fixed-point software algorithm and the optimization of system storage space, the real-time response speed of the system has been reduced from about 10 seconds to an average of 220 milliseconds. Through the optimization of the CHMM algorithm, the real-time performance of the system is improved again, and the average time to complete the recognition is significantly shortened. At the same time, the system can achieve a recognition rate of over 90% when the English speech vocabulary is less than 200.

Abstract:This paper introduces a novel embedded speech processing system, which is implemented in car wireless terminals. This system is composed of two modules: bluetooth module and speech-processing module. Through the blue tooth module, car wireless terminal can communicate with cellular phone, download the address book from cellular phone and send it to the speech processing module, while the speech processing module fulfills speech recognition, speech synthesis, speech coding and system controlling functions. This system can on-line generate the speech recognition network according to the address book and the recognizable vocabulary scale is up to 1000 words. When the address book includes 600 names, the recognition accuracy rate is more than 97%. The hardware platform of this system is based on SoC architecture and high integration of this architecture makes the system more robust.

Abstract:The rising interest in single-channel multi-speaker speech separation has triggered the development of end-to-end multispeaker automatic speech recognition (ASR). However, until now, most systems have adopted autoregressive mechanisms for decoding, resulting in slow decoding speed, which is not conducive to the application of multi-speaker speech recognition in real-world environments. In this paper, we first comprehensively investigate and compare the mainstream end-to-end multispeaker speech recognition systems. Secondly, we improve the recently proposed non-autoregressive end-to-end speech recognition model Mask-CTC, and introduce it to multi-speaker speech recognition to achieve real-time decoding. Our experiments on the LibriMix data set show that under the premise of the same amount of parameters, the non-autoregressive model achieves performance close to that of the autoregressive model while having a faster decoding speed.

Abstract:Voice-identification is a kind of technology that is using computer to transfer the voice signal to an associated text or command by identification and understand.Zero-crossing rate and short-term energy are selected as the basis in the endpoint detecting in preprocessing of speech signal through the studying of the characters of single-word.LPC(Linear Prediction Coefficient)is extracted from the signal,then cepstral coefficient is obtained as the speech characteristic parameters.DTW(Dynamic Time Warping)algorithm,which is improved to reduce the amount of data in the matching process by using global constraint,is used for the matching of the model.Based on the algorithm,a speaker-depended isolated-word speech recognition system is designed,and the simulation and analysis is carried on by using Matlab in a variety of background conditions.The experiment shows that the algorithm for speaker-depended isolated-word speech recognition can achieve good results.

Abstract:Non-native and accent speakers often face problems when using a speaker-independent (SI) speech recognition system. Speaker adaptation has been a solution to make SI recognizer work better for individuals. Targeting embedded implementation and applications in fast changing mobile environments, we in this paper proposed a supervised speaker adaptation (SA) solution with low system resource consumption, minimized disturbance to the data structure of SI recognizer, and superior adaptation performance. Adapted by UK speakers on a digit recognition task, the US English speech recognizer produced 65.9% digit error reduction. Other advantages of the proposed SA method include the multi-speaker adaptation, the fast adaptation, and the little changed speaker independency after adaptation.
