Abstract:Rapid progress has been made in both theories and practice for the application of optical spectroscopy in biology,e.g.,the application of biospectroscopy in the study of biomolecular conformations,kinetics and dynamics,protein folding and etc.,which are the hot topics in the current biophysical and biochemical research fields.This review attempted to introduce some basic theories in biospectroscopy,and also gave some examples related to the author's own research activities,and therefore to illustrate the useful application of biospectroscopy in the studies of peptide's secondary structure,protein structure-function relationship,and ion-induced effects on proteins and DNA in radiobiology.
