Recent Evolvement of Oral Drug Dissolution Technology and in Vitro and in Vivo Correlation

Abstract:Dissolution is not only an important index to evaluate oral drug quality,but also the basis to study the in vitro and in vivo correlation(IVIVC).Due to their natural limitations,traditional dissolution methods can't establish desirable IVIVC.In recent years,both domestic and overseas agents have done a great deal of research and improvement on the dissolving techniques of oral drugs in order to enhance the ability of predicting IVIVC.This article reviewed the relationship among the dissolution media,dissolution apparatus,model drugs and IVIVC.According to the classification of a model drug in the Biopharmaceutics Classification System,appropriate choice of dissolution apparatus and biorelevant media can achieve a better IVIVC.
