Esthetic outcome of multiple adjacent dental implants after gingival remodeling using immediate provisionalization

Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the pink esthetic and white esthetic outcome of multiple adjacent dental implants after gingival remodeling by provisionalization.Method:46 multiple adjacent implants were placed in 17 patients.The implants were immediately implanted and immediately restored with temporary abutments and temporary crowns.The provisional prosthesis were adjusted gradually to guide the peri-implant soft tissue remodeling during healing.The implants were restored with final restorations After 4 months and assessed using Pink esthetic Scores(PES) and White esthetic Scores(WES).Result:All of the 46 implants gained osseointegration and were restored.The mean total PES/WES was 14.63 ±2.16.The mean PES was 7.35±1.27 and mean WES was 7.28±1.09.The PES variables distal papilla(1.63±0.53) had the highest mean values,whereas the variables mesial papilla(1.24±0.52) had the lowest mean values among five PES variables.The WES variables translucency and characterization(1.65±0.48) had the highest mean values,whereas the variable Surface Texture(1.24±0.43) had the lowest mean values among five WES variables.Conclusion:The pleasing overall esthetic outcomes of multiple implants can be achieved by gingival remodeling after implantation.
