Abstract:Objective To suvey and analyze the situation of sexual behaviors among Chinese senior middle school students and to provide bases for making suitable sexual education in the future.Methods An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted among 110 954 urban adolescents selected by using multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method in 18 provinces in China.Results Generally,4.4% students reported that they had ever experienced sexual intercourse.In details,prevalence of sex bevaviors among male(6.9%)was higher than female(2.1%)students(P0.01);prevalence of sex bevaviors among vocational school students was higher than key high school students and common high school students(P0.01)and prevalence of sex bevaviors among western adolescents was higher than eastern and middle area adolescents,respectively.Further logistic regression analysis showed that grade,reading pornography,living in single-parent family or reformed family or being left-behind children,and living in the western areas were the risk factors for sex bevaviors.Meanwhile,studying in a common or key high school,self feeling of being a good student were the protective factors for sex bevaviors.Conclusion It is essential to have scientific and systematic sex education among senior middle school students in China,particularly among vocational school students.

Sexual Behaviors among Urban Senior Middle School Students in 18 Provinces in China
