Abstract:The experiments were conducted to find out the effects of calcium, copper, zinc, manganese ions,SDS(Sodium dodecyl sulfate)and EDTA(ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid)on the superoxide dismutase(SOD)in muscle of kuruma shrimp Penaeus japonicus, prawn Procambarus clarkii and Bacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei and the differences in SOD in muscle, gill and hepatopancreas. It was found that four ions promoted in low concentration, then restrained the SOD activity in high concentration from muscle tissues in three species of shrimps, excect calcium ion slightly inhibited it in P.japonicus.SDS and EDTA restrained SOD distinctly, while EDTA slightly promoted it in L.vannamei.The difference in the SOD activity was not evident in the muscle, and gill tissues in the shrimps. But it was high in hepatopancreas. For the SOD in the hepatopancreas,it showed the significant differences among three species of shrimps. After the gel exclusion chromatography, there were significant differences in the SOD bands and the speed of chromatography among muscle, gill and hepatopancreas of three species and it was confirmed that Cu,Zn-SOD played a more important role in these shrimps by the sensitivity of chloroform/ethanol and H2O2.
