Abstract:The preparation of a series of 2-pyridinamines and their alkyl derivatives is described.The target compounds are synthesized starting from corresponding 2-cyanopyridines, via incomplete hydrolysis in the presence of hydrogen peroxide in the dilute alkaline mixture of acetone-2% sodium hydroxide solution, and Hoffmann degradation reaction with freshly made NaBrO.This route is of industrial value because of cheap and readily available materials, moderate reaction conditions and convenient operations.

Abstract:A general and facile one-pot protocol for the preparation of a broad range of alkyl and aryl isothiocyanates has been developed from their corresponding primary amines under aqueous conditions. This synthetic process involves an in situ generation of a dithiocarbamate salt from the amine substrate by reacting with CS(2) followed by elimination to form the isothiocyanate product with cyanuric acid as the desulfurylation reagent. The choice of solvent is of decisive importance for the successful formation of the dithiocarbamate salt particularly for highly electron-deficient substrates. This novel and economical method is suitable for scale-up activities.

Abstract:Ethyl 3-alkyl-4-hydroxy-2-thioxothiazolidine-4-carboxylates were prepared in excellent yields from the reaction of corresponding primary amines with carbon disulfide and ethyl 3-bromo-2-oxopropanoate in the presence of anhydrous potassium phosphate in DMF at room temperature within 1 h. The structures of the highly functionalized products were corroborated spectroscopically JR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, EI-MS) and by elemental analyses. A plausible mechanism for such type of cyclization was proposed.

Abstract:An efficient method for the synthesis of organic sulfonic acid potassiums containing dithiocarbamate side chains was developed through the reaction of amines, carbon disulfide and sultones in the presence of K3PO4 in water at room temperature. The organic sulfonic acid potassium derivatives are easily transformed into the corresponding organic sulfonic acids, which were further reacted with amines to afford the important organic sulfonamides containing dithiocarbamate side chains.

Abstract:In this work, carbazoles, one of the most important types of nitrogenous compounds, were used as substrates to synthesize dicarbazolyl(aryl)methanols in moderate to excellent yields (up to 95%). This simple and efficient strategy can regioselectively form an sp 3 quaternary carbon with two large sterically hindered carbazole rings, one benzene ring, and an active hydroxy group in a one-pot reaction. The resulting triarylmethanes are all new products, and have high potential as building blocks for medicinal chemistry or materials science. Abstract:An efficient and environmental-friendly one-pot procedure has been developed for the synthesis of 1,3,4-oxadiazole-5- thioethers by the reaction of acylhydrazine with carbon disulfide and organic halides orα,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. The reactions were carried out in water in the presence of potassium phosphate within 2-4 h to afford the expected products in excellent yields.

Abstract:Abstract A highly efficient and convenient method for the water‐involved synthesis of β‐keto dithiocarbamates has been developed. In the presence of minimal water, the desired products were obtained in good to excellent yields by using thiuram disulfide reagents and substituted α‐haloacetophenones as starting materials. This protocol features high atom economy, mild conditions, good functional tolerance and good to excellent yields, showing potential value for the preparation of some biologically and pharmaceutically active compounds.

Abstract:Propylphosphonic anhydride (T3P)-mediated condensation and intramolecular cyclization of 1-hydroxyanthraquinone with various active methylene acetates in the presence of Et3N was efficiently accomplished, affording oxaperylenone derivatives. The in situ generated propylphosphate derivatives were confirmed as reactive intermediates, which were produced by acylation from 1-hydroxyanthraquinone with T3P. The reaction mechanism was investigated theoretically using density functional theory, and a plausible reaction mechanism was proposed. This method is useful for the synthesis of the core structure of oxaperylenone derivatives.

Abstract:A new and efficient protocol for the synthesis of 2-hydroxybenzophenone derivatives through [5C+1C] annulation of α-alkenoyl-α-aroyl ketene dithioacetals and nitroalkanes had been developed. In the presence of 1 equivalent of K2CO3 in DMF at 70 °C, a range of α-alkenoyl-α-aroyl ketene dithioacetals smoothly react with nitroalkanes to provide various 2-hydroxy benzophenone derivatives in excellent yields. The protocol featured mild reaction conditions, no the formation of by-products, excellent yield, no involving the problems of both chemoselectivity and regioselectivity and wide substrate scope.

Abstract:An organolithium-promoted multicomponent reaction (MCR) involving readily available terminal alkynes, elemental sulfur, and carbodiimides has been achieved for the first time. This MCR offers an atom-economic route to 2,3-dihydropyrimidinthiones which are difficult to access by other means via an interesting and useful C=N double bond cleavage and an sp(3) C-H bond functionalization of carbodiimides.

Abstract:Dithiocarbamates are common structural motifs in various bioactive compounds, attracting considerable attention due to their wide‐ranging applications in organic synthesis, material science, agrochemicals, and the pharmaceutical industry. Given the significant bioactivity and extensive applications of dithiocarbamates, the continuous pursuit of their efficient and diverse synthetic methods remains critical and urgent. Direct dithiocarbamation reactions can introduce ‐S‐C(S)NR2 group directly into parent molecules, providing shorter, greener, and more practical pathways for the synthesis of organodithiocarbamates. This article offers a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in direct dithiocarbamation reactions, categorizing them based on the different sources of the ‐S‐C(S)NR2 group, with a particular emphasis on elucidating substrate scope and reaction mechanisms. Additionally, some synthetic limitations and applications of these methods are discussed. This review aims to provide the latest advancements in this field to both general readers and professional practitioners, inspiring innovative ideas for the synthesis of organosulfur compounds.
