An Overview of Modeling and Simulation Dynamic V&V Techniques

Abstract:The Verification and Validation(V&V)techniques are the important means to ensure the credibility of Modeling and Simulation(M&S),which include four categories:informal,static,dynamic,and formal techniques. Dynamic V&V techniques are the relatively formal techniques on mathematic and logical formalism and applied in many fields.Dynamic V&V techniques evaluate the model based on its execution behavior.Firstly,this paper briefly introduces M&S VV&A(Verification,Validation and Accreditation)and the classification of V&V techniques. Then,it discusses the dynamic V&V techniques and analyzes their features.Finally,the selecting methods of dynam- ic V&V techniques are presented and listed in a table.The dynamic test techniques and statistical techniques are the einphases.
