The Relationship Between Professional Women's Rumination and Suicidal Ideation: the Mediating Effect of Attentional Bias

Abstract:This study,by using the Rumination Response Scale(RRS),the Beck Scale for Suicidal Ideation—Chinese Version(BSI-CV) and the dot-probe task to survey professional women,aims to explore the mediating effect of the attentional bias towards negative information on the relationship between professional women's rumination and suicidal ideation.The results show the following:(1) the attentional bias towards negative information has no significant correlation with reflection(r=0.162,p0.05),but has a significant correlation with rumination,brooding and suicidal ideation;(2) the attentional bias towards negative information partially mediates between rumination and suicidal ideation;(3) the attentional bias towards negative information partially mediates between brooding and suicidal ideation,rather than between reflection and suicidal ideation.
