Abstract:Based on the chaotic characteristics,A linear feedback technique is used to guide the Chen chaotic system and Sprott chaotic system to period when the largest lyapunov exponent of them is equal to zero.The validity of this control strategy is justified by numerical simulation for both the systems of Chen chaotic system and Sprott chaotic sytem.

As an example, this method is used to control a three-variable model of system. Abstract:Control chaos of the Chen chaotic system was discussed by using the passive control theory. With the study of the property of passive system, the essential conditions under which the Chen chaotic system could be equivalent to a passive system via smooth state feedback were derived. It was found that the new system transformed by the Chen chaotic system, could be globally asymptotically stabilized at different equilibrium points, provided that suitable controllability-like rank conditions were satisfied. Simulation results indicated that the proposed chaos control method is very effective in Chen chaotic systems.

Abstract:The method of controlling chaos by occasional nonlinear time-delayed feedback is proposed. Through the numerical analysis of bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponent, we found that the systematic chaos can be controlled effectively by the nonlinear time-delayed feedback as the form of u(x(n),x(n-k)) = cx(n)x(n-k). Under the proper feedback coefficient c, time-delayed coefficient k and occasional feedback period N, the system could be controlled from chaos to the steady periodic orbit, and also the steady period is the integral multiple of the occasional feedback period N.

Abstract:A method of chaos control using half period delayed-nonlinear feedback based on stability criterion is proposed in present paper. By a suitable separation of chaotic system, a special nonlinear function is obtained. Using the sum of nonlinear function about the chaotic output signal and its half period delayed output signal a continuous feedback input perturbation is constructed. Self-symmetric directly unstable periodic orbits can be stabilized by the method without using any external force. The method retains the advantages of performing the self-control of delay feedback control and overcomes its limitations. Beside, the validity of control is ensured due to the stability criterion. The control can be started at any moment, and it is convenient and flexible. The coupled coupling Duffing oscillator is taken as a numerical example. The results of numerical simulation show the validity of the method.
Control of chaos in distributed parameter systems

Abstract:A general strategy is developed for controlling the chaos in the distributed parameter systems without underlying model equations. The Karhunen-Loeve procedure is utilized to decompose the spatiotemporal patterns in the system and to identify the dominant spatial modes with the first return mapping in the Poincare section to obtain the set-point. The linear feedback on the deviation of dominant spatial structure between the set-point and the measured one is used to stabilize the system. A non-isothermal catalytic reactor undergoing period-doubling and an isothermal bio-reactor undergoing quasiperiod-doubling are taken as two examples and the performance of the proposed strategy is demonstrated via numerical simulation. The simulation results illustrate that this methodology works satisfactorily and the system can be stabilized into period-one. The controlled dynamics is indeed the embedding unstable period-one orbit for the period-doubling chaotic system while some offsets between the controlled dynamics and set-point exist for the quasiperiod-doubling chaotic system.

Abstract:The control of Chen's chaotic system when its parameters are known a priori or unknown is studied by means of a simple linear state feedback method. When the parameters are known a priori, we show the variation range of feedback gain; and when the parameters are unknown, an adaptive controller is designed, which overcomes the drawback that the control is discontinuous in a common adaptive controller. Finally the simulation results vertify the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Abstract:The new chaos control method presented in this paper is useful for taking advantage of chaos. Based on sliding mode control theory, this paper provides a switching manifold controlling strategy of chaotic system, and also gives a kind of adaptive parameters estimated method to estimate the unknown systems' parameters by which chaotic dynamical system can be synchronized. Taking the Lorenz system as example, and with the help of this controlling strategy, we can synchronize chaotic systems with unknown parameters and different initial conditions.

Abstract:We suggested a method using a small perturbation to modify Lyapunov exponents of the unstable periodic orbit for controlling chaos. The benefit of this control scheme is studied and the effect of noise is discussed. Based on these studies, a more practical control method is recommended, and some experiments can be better understanded.

Abstract:The method of chaos anti-control in continuous-time linear stable system is studied.According to adaptive control approach and Lyapunov stability theorem,chaos anti-control in continuous-time linear stable system is realized through designing proper adaptive controller to track the given chaotic system and confirmed.The process of designing is showed through the second-order linear stable system tracking Duffing chaotic system and the third-order linear stable system tracking Lorenz chaotic system.Numerical simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:We propose a method for controlling chaos and hyper-chaos by applying continuous proportional feedback to the system variables and their derivatives. The method has been applied successfully in six-order coupled Chua's hyper-chaotic circuit system. The theoretical analysis and numerical simulation results show that unstable fixed points embedded in hyper-chaotic attractors can be stabilized and Hopf bifurcation can be observed for the controlled system.

Abstract:Based on the stability theory of time-delay systems, this paper discusses chaos control and synchronization problem of time-delay chaotic systems. Through the combining of a new theorem and the characters of the chaotic system, we have designed a linear controller to realize chaos control and synchronization for Lorenz system with time-varying lags. Finally, numerical simulations are provided to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the developed method.

Abstract:In this paper, the control of delaying period-doubling bifurcations and unstable periodic orbits embedded in a chaotic attractor of a discrete nonlinear dynamical system is effectively realized by using the state variables feedback and parameter variation. Moreover, the 2(n) periodic orbits of the system can be controlled into the 2(m) ( m < n) periodic orbits by the methods proposed.

Abstract:A new method was proposed for tracking the desired output of chaotic dy- namical system using the feedback linearization and nonlinear extended statement ob- server method. The feedback linearization was used to convert the nonlinear chaotic system into linear system. The extended Luenberger-like statements observer was de- signed to reconstructing and observing the unmeasured statements when the tracking controller was designed. By this way, the chaotic system could be forced to track vari- able desired output, which could be a time variant function or an equilibrium points. Taken the Lorenz chaotic system as example, the simulation results show the validity of the conclusion and effectiveness of the algorithm.

Abstract:Non-feedback chaos control of Lorenz chaotic system is realized with non-resonant parametric drive. The control input is a periodic signal whose frequency is far higher than the system characteristic frequency. The feasibility of this scheme is proved by averaging method and Lyapunov method, and the condition of control parameter is obtained. Numerical researches show that the controlled system can reach stable state rapidly even when the control signal is noisy.

Abstract:The control problems of chaotic systems are investigated in the presence of parametric uncertainty and persistent external disturbances based on nonlinear control theory. By using a designed nonlinear compensator mechanism, the system deterministic nonlinearity, parametric uncertainty and disturbance effect can be compensated effectively. The renowned chaotic Lorenz system subjected to parametric variations and external disturbances is studied as an illustrative example. From the Lyapunov stability theory, sufficient conditions for choosing control parameters to guarantee chaos control are derived. Several experiments are carried out, including parameter change experiments, set-point change experiments and disturbance experiments. Simulation results indicate that the chaotic motion can be regulated not only to steady states but also to any desired periodic orbits with great immunity to parametric variations and external disturbances.

Abstract:By analyzing structural characteristics of nonlinear vector field for a class of chaotic systems, a new approach to controlling chaos globally and rapidly is put forward. Based on linear state feedback, an independent stable equation of some state variables is separated. Controlled chaotic systems degenerate gradually into stable linear systems. Nonlinear quivering phenomenon is eliminated completely further. The approach can be used to control Lorenz system families or new chaotic systems with similar structures. A class of simple controllers is designed to guarantee that closed-loop systems are globally asymptotically stable at the origin. Numerical examples illustrate the shortcut and the validity of the presented approach in this paper.
