Expression and its significance of HLA-G in colon carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To study the expression of HLA-G protein in normal tissues, normal paracarcinoma tissues and carcinoma tissues derived from colon carcinoma specimens and to explore its effects with occurrence and development of colon carcinoma. Methods Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of HLA-G protein in distal tissues, paracarcinoma tissues and carcinoma tissues of colon carcinoma. Results There were significant differences of the expression of HLA-G protein in carcinoma tissues compared with distal tissues or paracarcinoma tissues (P<0.01) and significant difference between paracarcinoma tissues and distal tissues (P<0.01). The expression of HLA-G protein in colon carcinoma tissue was positively correlated with tumor vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis and clinical staging (P<0.01), without relationship gender, age, tumor size, tumor location, histological grade, and preoperative CEA. Conclusion HLA-G expression was progressively increased from distal tissue,paracarcinomatissue to colon carcinoma tissues,which associates with the tumor vascular invasion, lymph node metastasis, clinical staging.
