Historical Materialism:"Philosophy" Or "True Positive Science"——In Response to Professor Yu Wujin

Abstract:Marx and Engels hold that historical materialism is a true positive science instead of philosophy. Whether we can establish historical materialism as philosophy will be decided by the definition of philosophy as a concept itself. That Professor Yu Wujin defines historical materialism as a kind of metaphysics or ontological philosophy makes a distorted understanding of it,since the argument could not be proved either by text or by logic. Professor Yu,in order to verify his argument,revises the translation upon the related lines in Deutsche Ideology translated by The Central Translation Bureau,but his five points of revised translation are either redundancy or mistakes.
