Abstract:Viral encephalitis is a common disease in children with various manifestations and complex pathogenesis, which has been found closely related to immunologic injury. In this report,we aim to explore the change trend as well as the clinical significance of T cell subsets and humoral immunity levels in children with viral encephalitis. We chosen 67 cases of children with viral encephalitis as observation group whose fasting venous serum were separated both in acute and stable periods to detect T cell subsets(T,Th,Ts,Th/Ts,NK,CIK) levels with flow cytometry;at the same time,we also detected their immune globulin(IgA,IgG,IgM) and serum complement(C3,C4) levels with ELISA test, which were finally analyzed contrastively with 41 cases of homochronous healthy children. We found that levels of T,Th,Th/Ts,NK,CIK,IgA,IgM,C3 and C4 were all significantly lower in acute period than that in stable period in children patients, which were all significantly decreased,as compared with that of healthy children;while there was no significant difference in the level of Ts and IgG.Our research results suggest that the levels of T cell subsets, immunoglobulin and complement are all declining with onset and aggravation of viral encephalitis, which may be one of the important pathogenic factors of children viral encephalitis that encephalitis virus spread into the central nervous system through the blood-brain barrier as the cellular and humoral immunity dysfunction.
