Abstract:Background and Aim: This article takes the regional characteristics of Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works as the main research subject, aiming to sort out the regional music characteristics and regional performance characteristics of Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works, to better guide the creation of contemporary Chinese choral music works. Materials and Methods: The research method of this thesis is mainly the literature analysis method and qualitative analysis method. The literature analysis method is mainly used to collect and sort out the information about Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works, which mainly comes from China Knowledge Network, Yunnan Provincial Library, Yunnan Provincial Museum of Literature and Art, the Internet, publishers, and purchased books. The qualitative analysis method is mainly used to screen the regional dialect characteristics, regional music style characteristics, regional music theme characteristics, and regional music cultural characteristics used in the relevant literature to classify the categories. Results: The main purpose of the study is to refine and summarise the regional characteristics of Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works, which include four aspects, namely, regional dialect characteristics, regional music style characteristics, regional music theme characteristics, and regional music cultural characteristics. Conclusion: Liu Xiaoqeng composes his works with the regional dialect liner notes, folk songs, or ditties of Yunnan Province as his main materials. These dialect liner notes, folk songs, or ditties have very different regional language characteristics and distinctive modal music styles. It is these characteristics that make Liu Xiaogeng's choral music works have distinctive regional characteristics.

Abstract:Today’s research on Chinese music technology is mainly focused on three aspects: data collection, music deconstruction, and music reconstruction. In this paper, a general method is proposed to collect Chinese music in the form of numbered musical notation, and a Dizi dataset is collected using this method. Based on the collected Dizi dataset, we conduct research on the Dizi music styles of the Northern school and the Southern School. Characteristics include melody and playing techniques of the two different music styles are deconstructed. A reconstruction example, music style transfer which includes melody transfer and playing techniques transfer is given and audience evaluation is done to evaluate the reconstruction results.

Abstract:The Tianqin, often a plucked zither or lute, holds significant cultural and musical heritage in China. The objective of this study is to explore the evolutionary perspectives on the culture of a Chinese folk musical instrument by examining its playing techniques and cultural changes. Conducted in Longzhou County, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, this study involved ethnographic fieldwork, including participant observation and interviews with key informants such as Tianqin musicians and craftsmen. Data analysis was performed using thematic analysis, revealing that the Tianqin has transitioned from a ritualistic instrument to a symbol of cultural heritage and mass entertainment. The findings highlight the instrument's adaptability through innovations in playing techniques and materials, supported by governmental initiatives promoting Tianqin culture. This research underscores the importance of preserving and promoting traditional musical instruments in contemporary society. The study's insights contribute to a broader understanding of cultural adaptation and innovation in ethnomusicology.

Abstract:Tucked away in the stunning province of Fujian in southeast China, the region has a cultural tapestry as varied and vibrant as its breath-taking scenery. Through the analysis and coding of folk songs from four different geographical regions in China (Fujian and Ningde), this paper aimed to determine the degree of mutual interaction and integration of the musical cultures of the Shen and Han nationalities into modernity. It did this by developing a new musical characteristic density map for machine music classification. The nationality known as (SHE) is a small ethnic group in the area. The traditional cultural heritage as well as the growth of the (SHE) nationality have lagged behind the rapid advancement of modern times. This study investigates how to incorporate the culture of the (SHE) nationality into modern culture in order to fully realise the goal of "going out," starting from the conventional cultural heritage and creative growth of the (SHE) nationality. This paper discusses the formation of the (SHE) Minority folk songs in the context of protecting intangible cultural heritage. It does this by using the methods of literature research, field investigation, and comprehensive analysis to gather first-hand fresh field data from the components of historical evolution, protection process, inheritance method, development dilemma, and countermeasures. Questions of development and inheritance. The world will recognise the allure of the traditional culture of the (SHE) nationality as it is continuously enhanced and vibrant.

Abstract:This article believes that only the national art culture is a kind of art universally accepted by the world. If there is no nationality, it is like a tree without roots and a river without a source. Music culture is the same development law. This paper aims to study the fusion of ethnic minority music cultures in northern China to study the history and future of the inclusive culture of Chinese Han residents and various ethnic minorities in northern China. In the history of China for five thousand years, the origin of the music culture of ethnic minorities in the vast land area of northern China has shown a trend of cultural integration and diversified development. Furthermore, the integration of music culture among various ethnic minorities not only effectively promotes the development of music culture but also lays a solid foundation for the colorful music culture system of the Chinese nation. This paper mainly studies the fusion of ethnic minority music culture in northern China and tries to find an effective way to further inherit and promote the ethnic minority music culture in northern China.

Abstract:The songs of the Chinese Bulbuls in Shensi Island, Putuo Island, Wenting, Changx- ing, Hangzhou and Longyou of Zhejiang Province were studied during the period from Jun. 1993 to Oct. 1994. The results show that song dialects exist in this bird species. The songs of birds from different areas show differences in the tone characteristics, number of sylla- bles, duration, spectral features and frequency range of the main sentence and so on. As a species specificity, however, some basic song characteristics are similar: such as having the same 1.5-3.0kHz frequency range in all the song dialects, and showing high similarity in their monosyllable songs.

Abstract:Quyi is a kind of talking singing music, and with a long history and rich colorful, it is an important sort in China traditional music. This paper discussed that the talking singing music gradually comprises six kinds in agelong diffusion: the labelled tunes, drum tunes, tanci (story telling), daoqing yugu (bamboo percussion and folk tales), qinshu (ballad singing), the local tunes. It was significant factors for the diffusion of the talking singing music that artist went on a tour performance and emigration, that help the Quyi music pervading far and near, going round the different areas of China.

Abstract:This qualitative analysis aims to investigate the current state of transmission and conservation of Qin'an Xiaoqu folk music in Gansu, China. The research adopts a comprehensive approach, combining qualitative research techniques, fieldwork, literature analysis, and interviews. Key informants, including musicians, folk artists, cultural experts, and residents, contribute their knowledge and experiences related to Qin'an Xiaoqu. Ethnographic observations, participant observations, and in-depth interviews provide firsthand insights into the musical characteristics, historical significance, and cultural relevance of this tradition. The results underscore the historical, cultural, and spiritual importance of Qin'an Xiaoqu, reflecting the essence of the Chinese nation. However, challenges such as weak awareness, funding constraints, lack of successors, and changing cultural environment threaten its continuity. The research proposes strategies such as cultivating professional archivists, enhancing education transmission, and supporting musicians to preserve and transmit this musical heritage effectively. By recognizing its significance and implementing robust conservation strategies, this cherished musical legacy can endure for future generations, reinforcing the enduring spirit of Chinese culture.

Abstract:Back ground and Aims: This study explores the organology and learning skills of Dongxiao Chinese folk musical instruments in Shandong Province, a traditional Chinese folk musical instrument with deep historical and cultural significance, particularly in Shandong Province. The aim is to provide a comprehensive understanding of Dongxiao music culture, ensuring its preservation and development alongside contemporary music cultures in Asia. Materials and Methods: The study is conducted through fieldwork in Heze, Shandong, China, involving data collection, identification of key informants, and systematic data collation. Observations and interviews are used as research tools to gain insights into Dongxiao materials, organology, and playing techniques. Data analysis includes quantitative and qualitative methods to identify patterns and themes related to Dongxiao. Results: The study reveals the organology of Dongxiao, highlighting materials such as bamboo, hardwood, jade, metal, and PVC, along with their advantages and disadvantages. It categorizes the instrument's components, including the mouthpiece, body, finger holes, and barrel holes, elucidating their roles in sound production. Additionally, the study explores the learning techniques for Dongxiao, emphasizing playing postures, finger hole techniques, and lip positioning. Conclusion: Dongxiao, with its rich history and cultural significance, plays a vital role in traditional Chinese music. Understanding its organology and learning techniques is essential for its preservation and promotion. Recommendations include the establishment of music education centers, digital learning platforms, collaborative performances, music festivals, and documentation efforts. Further study avenues include acoustical analysis, pedagogical approaches, regional variations, cross-cultural studies, contemporary compositions, and exploring the psychological and health benefits of Dongxiao.

Abstract:The problem of integration of folk art and, in particular, instrumental art, into the works of Chinese composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, in the light of the above-mentioned phenomena, is relevant, comprehensive and, to a certain extent, inexhaustible for the researchers of the world musicological science. This was a factor that prompted disclosure of the topic in the publication in question, which was at the same time the reason for writing the study. Its relevance stems from the importance of a deep understanding of such a phenomenon as folk instrumental art and its implementation in compositional practice. The purpose of this study is to investigate the process of integrating folklore (its instrumental branch) into professional academic music of China. The main methods for achieving this, are the principles and approaches chosen here to review, collect, study and a certain systematic compilation of sources relating to Chinese music in general, as well as its folk-instrumental field – in particular. The result of the activities undertaken is the categories of all the sectors of the problem under consideration, derived from the research process. They form a coherent structure of systems such as musical language (means of musical expression) and ways of processing folklore sources. The tables and the figure-chart illustrate this aspect. There is a considerable number of different scholarly judgments, perspectives of specialists who have addressed in their research activities the issue of integrating folk instrumental art into the works of Chinese composers of the 20th and 21st centuries. However, the problem of integrating folk instrumental art into the works of Chinese composers of the 20th and 21st centuries, as a holistic and comprehensive phenomenon, requires its own deep and comprehensive research. This fact determines the practical significance of the present study. It also demonstrates the promising nature of scientific knowledge in this field in the future.

Abstract:Following the track of communication between Chinese and western music since ancient times, this paper focuses on the characteristics of music fusion in different times and its hidden social motivations. First, this paper examines the origins of ancient Chinese and Western musical exchanges, such as the Silk Road, which contributed to the collision and integration of cultural ideas; Then, the spotlight turns to modern times, especially during the 20th century, in the face of the expansion of Western cultural forces, how the Chinese musical territory absorbs and transforms the essence of Western music, and this change has a profound impact on the Chinese classical music system. Then, under the blue picture of global integration, the symphonic and symbiotic phenomenon of Chinese and Western music is explored, and its value and significance in building a multi-musical ecological chain is analyzed. The role of music as a tender agent of national diplomacy, a melodic cornerstone of national identity construction, and a resonant voice of social movements is also explored in detail. Through case studies, such as the compositions, movements and music festivals of outstanding musicians, the power of music to transcend geographical and cultural barriers and promote understanding and harmonious coexistence among all ethnic groups is revealed. The interweaving of Chinese and western music is not only a superficial exchange of artistic forms, but also a reflection of profound cultural dialogue and social pulsation. It not only adds new blood to the connotation of music art, but also provides an innovative perspective to ease the cultural friction in the process of globalization. Future research should deepen the exploration of the integration of Chinese and Western music to promote global peace and development.

Therefore, Western harmony theory and modern music elements can be integrated to innovate the expression forms of traditional music, and new music themes can be developed, such as Suide folk opera. Abstract:Background and Aims: Xiatan Chuanfuqu songs represent a significant cultural heritage rooted in boatmen's laborious yet harmonious lives navigating the rivers of China's Sichuan and Chongqing regions. This anthropological study aims to explore the current status and musical characteristics of Xiatan Chuanfuqu songs in an anthropological context. Materials and Methods: Comprises a comprehensive literature review, incorporating anthropological theories on music, cultural heritage preservation, and sociological analyses of folk music transmission. Qualitative methods, including semi-structured interviews, ethnographic observations, and content analysis, were employed to gather rich data on the evolution of these songs, their cultural significance, and the challenges they face in contemporary society. Results: Reveal the intricate musical elements, such as rhythmic patterns, vocal techniques, lyrical content, and melodic nuances, reflecting the boatmen's experiences, camaraderie, and challenges encountered on the rivers. Even though modernization has made younger people less interested and traditional singers are getting older, the study shows how important it is to use comprehensive preservation strategies and encourage community involvement to ensure that Xiatan Chuanfuqu songs are passed on and remain important as intangible cultural heritage. Conclusion: Emphasizes the need for collaborative efforts among cultural institutions, local communities, and educational initiatives to safeguard and promote these unique musical traditions for future generations.

Abstract:This article examines and discusses the musical and artistic characteristics of Shaanxi folk songs, as well as how they can be more effectively disseminated in today’s rapidly changing social environment. This also provides some beneficial information for the dissemination and development of Shaanxi folk songs, allowing them to be disseminated and passed on more effectively. The study’s objectives were to analyze the musical characteristics of northern Shaanxi Province’s folk songs and to propose guidelines for the dissemination of folk song literacy in northern Shaanxi Province, China. The study investigates and analyzes how to better disseminate Shaanxi folk songs from various perspectives, including educational dissemination, media dissemination, and official institution dissemination, using qualitative research methods. The results of this study show that the folk songs of northern Shaanxi have a strong local flavor and a simple style that people appreciate. They have a distinct musical charm and range from small two-stanza styles to large multi-stanza styles. Guidelines for the dissemination of folk songs in northern Shaanxi Province, China, have been developed in order to introduce the world to the excellent folk songs of northern Shaanxi in a new language form as well as to various contemporary cultural activities and school education.
