Abstract:This experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicate(HSCAS) on growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility and antioxidant ability of growing-finishing pigs.A total of 45 healthy 'Duroc×Landrace×Yorkshire' growing-finishing pigs with an average body weight of(4.08±10.0) kg were randomly allocated into 3 treatments with 5 replicates per treatment and 3 pigs per replicate.Pigs in control group were fed a basal diet, and the others in experimental groups were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0.25% and 2.50% HSCAS,respectively. The experiment lasted for 70 days and divided into two periods(48 to 80 kg and 81 to 110 kg).The results showed as follows: 1) compared with the control group, the addition of 0.25% HSCAS to the diet had no significant effects on growth performance, serum urea nitrogen content and antioxidant ability of pigs(P0.05),but significantly decreased the crude protein(CP) and energy apparent digestibility of pigs in 81 to 110 kg(P0.05).2) Compared with the control group, the addition of 0.25% HSCAS to the diet significantly increased the feed/gain in 81 to 110 kg and 40 to 110 kg,and significantly increased serum urea nitrogen content(P0.05),but significantly decreased the apparent digestibility of CP,energy and crude ash, serum superoxide dismutase activity, and total anti-oxidation capability of pigs in 81 to 110 kg.The results indicate that the addition of 0.25% HSCAS to the diet has no significant influence on the growth and health of growing-finishing pigs, but the addition of 2.50% HSCAS to the diet can significantly decrease the growth performance, nutrient apparent digestibility and antioxidant ability of growing-finishing pigs.
