Abstract:This paper made a detailed discussion of the process and impact of"moon hoax"of 1835 on The Sun,and explored the origins of science behind the hoax according to historical documents.By giving a new interpretation from the perspective of the history of science,it concluded that the"moon story"was not only a hoax in the name of"science",but also another example reflecting the close interaction between science and fantasy.
