Development and use of a dual follow-up system in oncology department

Abstract:Objective To develop a dual follow-up system in oncology department,and to fulfil digital management for outpatients′health data.Methods The program was compiled in windows XP by using Visual C++ 6.0,telephone voice card,voice synthesis tool,and short message platform were used to develop the dual follow-up system in oncology department for management of outpatients′digital health data.Results The system achieved such active follow-up functions as reminding manager of patients′ list periodically,investigating patient satisfaction automatically,sending and receiving short messages,and recording messages in patients′ database;it had passive follow-up functions,including recording patients′ call messages and reminding nurses automatically;it also provided such functions as managing health documents,offering statistical sheet,multiple condition database searching,exporting Excel worksheets.Conclusion The dual follow-up system is of complete functions,simple operation procedures,and convenient maintenance.It standardizes follow-up for oncology patitnes and improves efficiency of follow-up.
