Abstract:This paper proposes an approach for the estimation of directions-of-arrival of coherent wideband source signals without the use of focusing matrices.It firstly re -construct the Toeplitz covariance matrix without any loss of array aperture to conduct incoherent wideband sources.Then, according to the characteristic of Hermitian matrix,the unitary is transformed to the real covariance matrix so that the computational burden of eigendecomposition is decreased.Finally,using the orthogo-nality of projected subspaces,the DOA estimation is obtained without any focus.The computer simulation test shows that the algorithm has higher precision of DOA estimation and lower computational burden,and can deal with coherent signals.
