Abstract:We obtain a sharp result on order of certain affine and linear invariant families of harmonic quasiconformal mappings with bounded Schwarzian norm. This problem is motivated by the work of Chuaqui, Hernández and Martín [Math. Ann. 367: 1099--1122, 2017]. Firstly, for $K\ge1$, we construct a harmonic $K$-quasiconformal counterpart of the classical Koebe function and use it to formulate the corresponding conjectures. Then we consider Hardy spaces $H^p$ of harmonic quasiconformal mappings by applying results for quasiconformal mappings obtained by Astala and Koskela [Pure Appl. Math. Q. 7: 19--50, 2011]. In particular, we determine the optimal order of the family of harmonic quasiconformal mappings with bounded Schwarzian norm to belong to a harmonic Hardy space. This partially solves an open problem posed by Pavlović in 2014. Finally, we derive pre-Schwarzian and Schwarzian norm estimates of certain harmonic mappings.

Abstract:Abstract We verify a long-standing conjecture on the membership of univalent harmonic mappings in the Hardy space, whenever the functions have a “nice” analytic part. We also produce a coefficient estimate for these functions, which is in a sense best possible. The problem is then explored in a new direction, without the additional hypothesis. Interestingly, our ideas extend to certain classes of locally univalent harmonic mappings. Finally, we prove a Baernstein-type extremal result for the function $\log (h'+cg')$ , when $f=h+\overline {g}$ is a close-to-convex harmonic function, and c is a constant. This leads to a sharp coefficient inequality for these functions.

Abstract:In this paper, we first establish two versions of Landau-Bloch type theorem for $(K,K')$-elliptic harmonic mappings with a bounded minimum distortion. Next, we provide several coefficient estimates and a conjecture for $(K,K')$-elliptic harmonic mappings. Then, we establish three new versions of Landau-Bloch type theorem for sense-preserving harmonic mappings. Finally, we establish two sharp versions of Landau-Bloch type theorem for certain harmonic mappings. These results are sharp in some given cases and improve the related results of different authors.

Abstract:We study $p$--harmonic maps with Dirichlet boundary conditions from a planar domain into a general compact Riemannian manifold. We show that as $p$ approaches $2$ from below, they converge up to a subsequence to a minimizing singular renormalizable harmonic map. The singularities are imposed by topological obstructions to the existence of harmonic mappings; the location of the singularities being governed by a renormalized energy. Our analysis is based on lower bounds on growing balls and also yields some uniform weak-$L^p$ bounds (also known as Marcinkiewicz or Lorentz $L^{p,\infty}$).

We first establish a maximum principle for weak solutions to the equation L(p)u = g with the weighted Sobolev inequality and the extension of Moser iteration technique to the weight case. Next, the local boundedness and the Harnack inequality for nonnegative weak solutions to L(p)u = g are proved. As an application, the Holder continuity for nonnegative weak solutions is given. Unlike in many papers, we do not impose any restriction in advance for measures of metric balls.

Abstract:We study a class of maps, called Pseudo Horizontally Weakly Confor- mal (PHWC), which includes horizontally weakly conformal mappings. We give geometrical conditions ensuring the harmonicity of a (PHWC) map, making it a pseudo harmonic morphism, a generalisation of harmonic morphism, for which we broaden the Baird-Eells Theorem. Finally, considering pseudo horizontally homothetic maps, we extend a theorem of Aprodu, Aprodu and Brinzanescu to pseudo harmonic morphisms, and show that the dual stress-energy of such maps is horizontally covariant constant.

Abstract:Odd univalent analytic functions played an instrumental role in the proof of the celebrated Bieberbach conjecture. In this article, we explore odd univalent harmonic mappings, focusing on coefficient estimates, growth and distortion theorems. Motivated by the unresolved harmonic analogue of the Bieberbach conjecture, we investigate specific subclasses of , the class of sense-preserving univalent harmonic functions. We provide sharp coefficient bounds for functions exhibiting convexity in one direction and extend our findings to a more generalized class including the major geometric subclasses of . Additionally, we analyze the inclusion of these functions in Hardy spaces and broaden the range of p for which they belong. In particular, the results of this article enhance understanding and highlight analogous growth patterns between odd univalent harmonic functions and the harmonic Bieberbach conjecture. We conclude the article with 2 conjectures and possible scope for further study as well.

On The Weak Harnack Estimate For Nonlocal Equations

Abstract:We prove a weak Harnack estimate for a class of doubly nonlinear nonlocal equations modelled on the nonlocal Trudinger equation \begin{align*} \partial_t(|u|^{p-2}u) + (-\Delta_p)^s u = 0 \end{align*} for $p\in (1,\infty)$ and $s \in (0,1)$. Our proof relies on expansion of positivity arguments developed by DiBenedetto, Gianazza and Vespri adapted to the nonlocal setup. Even in the linear case of the nonlocal heat equation and in the time-independent case of fractional $p-$Laplace equation, our approach provides an alternate route to Harnack estimates without using Moser iteration, log estimates or Krylov-Safanov covering arguments.

Abstract:Let $\alpha>-1$ and assume that $f$ is $\alpha-$harmonic mapping defined in the unit disk that belongs to the Hardy class $h^p$ with $p\ge 1$. We obtain some sharp estimates of the type $|f(z)|\le g(|r|) \|f^\ast\|_p$ and $|Df(z)|\le h(|r|)\|f^\ast\|_p$. We also prove a Schwarz type lemma for the class of $\alpha-$harmonic mappings of the unit disk onto itself fixing the origin.

Abstract:In this paper, we first obtain an $$L^q$$ gradient estimate for p-harmonic maps, by assuming the target manifold supporting a certain function, whose gradient and Hessian satisfy some analysis conditions. From this $$L^q$$ gradient estimate, we get a corresponding Liouville type result for p-harmonic maps. Secondly, using these general results, we give various geometric applications to p-harmonic maps from complete manifolds with nonnegative Ricci curvature to manifolds with various upper bound on sectional curvature, under appropriate controlled images.

Abstract:In this paper, we solve the Dirichlet problem for Sobolev maps between singular metric spaces that extends the corresponding result of Guo and Wenger [Comm. Anal. Geom. 2020]. The main new ingredient in our proofs is a suitable extension of the theory of trace for metric valued Sobolev maps developed by Korevaar and Schoen [Comm. Anal. Geom. 1993]. We also develop a theory of trace in the borderline case, which investigates a sharp condition to characterize the existence of traces.

In this paper, the sharp coefficient estimates for bounded planar harmonic mappings are established, the sharp coefficient estimates for normalized planar harmonic mappings with $|h(z)|+|g(z)|\leq M$ are also provided. As their applications, Landau's theorems for certain biharmonic mappings are provided, which improve and refine the related results of earlier authors.

Abstract:Motivated by emerging applications from imaging processing, the heat flow of a generalized $p$-harmonic map into spheres is studied for the whole spectrum, $1\leq p<\infty$, in a unified framework. The existence of global weak solutions is established for the flow using the energy method together with a regularization and a penalization technique. In particular, a $BV$-solution concept is introduced and the existence of such a solution is proved for the 1-harmonic map heat flow. The main idea used to develop such a theory is to exploit the properties of measures of the forms $\cA\cdot\nab\bv$ and $\cA\wedge\nab\bv$; which pair a divergence-$L^1$, or a divergence-measure, tensor field $\cA$, and a $BV$-vector field $\bv$. Based on these analytical results, a practical fully discrete finite element method is then proposed for approximating weak solutions of the $p$-harmonic map heat flow, and the convergence of the proposed numerical method is also established.

Abstract:In this paper, we provide new results about an invariance of $p$-harmonic functions under boundary perturbations by using tug-of-war with noise; a probabilistic interpretation of $p$-harmonic functions introduced by Peres-Sheffield in \cite{ps}. As a main result, when $E\subset\bo $ is countable and $f\in C(\bo)$, we provide a necessary and sufficient condition for $E$ to guarantee that $H_g=H_f$ whenever $g=f$ on $\bo\setminus E$. Here $H_f$ and $H_g$ denote the Perron solutions of $f$ and $g$. It turns out that $E$ should be of $p$-harmonic measure zero with respect to $\Omega$. As a consequence, we analyze a structure of a countable set of $p$-harmonic measure zero. In particular, we give some results for the subadditivity of $p$-harmonic measures and an invariance result for $p$-harmonic measures. In addition, the results in this paper solve the problem regarding a perturbation point Björn \cite{Bjorn} suggested for the case of unweighted $\R^n$.
