Abstract:With the methods of documents,investigation and mathematical statistics,the paper investigates the present situations of developing Tae Kwon Do in the universities and colleges in Shanxi province. The results show that the main form of carrying on Tae kwon do is elective course and clubs in the university of Shanxi province,but there is no uniform textbooks and examination standards. And the main motivations of students to participate in Tae Kwon Do are physical health,defense and hobbies. Most of the students feel very happy and have ease of mind in the process of participating in Tae Kwon Do,which relieve them of learning and life pressure,their physical qualities and willpower are strengthened. The main factors that restrict the universities and colleges in Shanxi province to carry on Tae kwon do are field equipment deficiencies,leaders' low degree of attention and the shortage of teachers. On the basis of these findings,some reasonable suggestions are given,with a view to provide some theoretical references for Tae Kwon Do's better development in the universities and colleges of Shanxi province.
