Abstract:This paper presents a type of solution for the broken optical fiber in optical communication system. By automatic monitoring the fault of optical fiber, this system can make a switch between the master and backup optical fiber channel in time, measures up the telecom standard of 50ms. It can make the transmission be transparent to the optical devices and achieve uninterrupted communication. In this paper, by discussing the structure of automatic switching optical fiber protection system, we set out from the point of technical fea- sibility, researched the basic principles, design plan, constructions of hardware and software, component se- lection and so on. And the result realizes the optical fiber protection system which can completely meet the standard of telecom.
