Abstract:After Koenen put forward three basic approaches to DRM interoperability, lots of research has been done in this area. We did a survey of the literatures in this topic within the latest one and a half years. We pointed out what has been done and what's still open for research.

Abstract:At present, mobile terminals haven't any function of rights management, and cryptology-based method can't resolve all the copyright problems in mobile digital distribution service. With the urge demand of digital rights management in digital distribution service, a scheme based on watermark technique(WDRM) is proposed in this paper. It doesn't need the cooperation from mobile terminals. In the paper we mainly discuss the scheme theory, architecture, service process, algorithms choice and performance. In the end, the compare between WDRM and cryptology-based OMADRM is given. Analysis shows that the scheme is feasible and secure.

Abstract:Digital rights management (DRM) is becoming a key enabling technology to protect intellectual property of digital contents, control their dissemination and usage. Numerous researches have been conducted for DRM since the past decade. In order to better understand what is currently happening to copyright protection, this paper firstly summarizes the basic concepts in DRM and presents the typical DRM reference architecture. Secondly, key problems in this domain are studied, focusing on rights description, usage control, fair use, rights transferability and trusted execution. Furthermore, the existing and emerging techniques to resolve those problems are presented and analyzed to point out the advantages and disadvantages respectively. Finally, research directions in this area are also discussed.

Abstract:Digital rights management(DRM) is becoming a major means of controlling the legitimate transaction, dis- semination and usage of digital content in the network circumstance. This paper first briefs the current research on the security of DRM, gives the recent developments of standardization about DRM, analyzes the various security require- ments of the DRM system, then summarizes the major techniques used in DRM and describes respectively the advantage and disadvantage of existing techniques used in DRM. Finally it brings forward the solutions for these security problems and explores the future research on the security of DRM.

Abstract:This paper presents an ongoing Digital Right Management (DRM) standard: Digital Media Project (DMP), which is active as an interoperable DRM solution in recent three years. We start by reviewing the important works of DRM standards at present, mainly focusing on their interoperability issues. Then we describe the core techniques in DMP and explain how they fit into an interoperable DRM system. We also give a report on the development of the reference software of DMP - Chillout, which is an open source project. Finally, we outline several tasks that we will undertake in the next step of DMP to optimize this technical standard.

Abstract:The protection of digital resource copyrights has drawn extensive public concern in the past decade. Traditional methods, however, fail to satisfy the requirements due to their poor timeliness, frequent infringement, and cumbersome in rights confirmation, etc. In this paper, we investigate and design a novel approach for cross-platform digital resource rights confirmation and infringement tracking based on smart contracts. We utilize smart contracts to realize rights transactions and protection. As another contribution, we propose to establish fine-grained digital resource rights, which are divided into ownership and usufruct. For tracking infringement acts, we invoke smart contracts to extract the rights transfer chain for resources. Furthermore, we reveal the source of resource leakage by embedding digital watermarks when distributing the resources. By combining resource rights transfer chain and digital watermarking, we can effectively achieve digital resource rights confirmation and infringement tracking. Extensive experiments show the effectiveness of our proposed method.

Abstract:This paper proposed a digital right management scheme based on watermark.It didn't need the cooperation from mobile terminals.The scheme not only resolved the copyright problems in mobile multimedia service,but also offered more business modes and charging strategies according to the rights expression.The scheme also considered the smooth transition problem to the future OMA DRM.

Abstract:With the expansion of the network and E-commerce, Digital Rights Management(DRM) becomes more significant in protecting any types of digital products and in controlling the distribution and usage of them. However, there are currentlyno complete solutions for DRM systems. In this paper, the basic concepts and the major requirements for DRM were reviewed at first. Secondly, the main components ofthe existing DRM architecture and the limitation shared by all current DRM systems were pointed out. As a solution, a three-layer architecture for DRM systems was proposed and the layers in this system were defined. Afterwards, the relations between the proposed architecture and the existing architecture were presented and some features of the three-layer architecture were introduced. Finally, the future work on DRM was described.

In the proposed master-slave rapid consortium blockchain, we adopt a new intelligent consensus mechanism (ICM) named PBS (Proof By System Nodes), improving the consensus efficiency, shortening the transaction confirmation time and improving the fault tolerance of the system, which can ensure the final consistency of each block and guarantee block generation stability without blockchain bifurcating.

Abstract:Digital rights management (DRM) is an efficient method to protect digital content in various applications such as digital TV, IPTV, video on demand, etc. In China, the legal and administration systems, business models and industrial chain are different from those of other countries and therefore have special requirements on DRM technologies. In this paper, we propose a new licensing design to extend the classic DRM architecture where the new system takes into account the commercial integrity, central monitoring, and potential user scalability. We propose a licensing method of secure audit report and mass-license, with architecture of linked license portals and license issuers as basic insurance. The extension does not impact on the security of former DRM systems, and is compatible with the PKI-based trust model.

In this paper, we analyzed the conception of effective cooperation mechanism among four parties in DRM has been analyzed. By using cooperative game, we elicited shapley value of four participants in DRM game ecosystem, and got their functions, which are fatal in upbuildding the Nash Equilibrium of the four parties.

Abstract:In this paper, a taxonomy of privacy-preserving approaches employed in digital right management systems are presented. These approaches are classified into two main approaches according to their design philosophy: cryptographic and noncryptographic approaches. Moreover, the pros and cons of the presented approaches are reported and compared in light of different viewpoints. Abstract:Digital Radio Mondiale (DRM) is the world's only standard-open digital radio system for short-wave, medium-wave/AM and long-wave radio broadcasting with the ability to use existing frequencies and bandwidth across the globe. Implementation of digital radio in today's AM bands (i.e. long, medium and shortwave) based on DRM will enable operators to provide services which will be successful with both existing and future high-quality services. Abstract:By reviewing DRMs up to now and two typical examples - AVS DRM and DMP IDP, the paper tries to find out the fundamental challenge of content protection approach from technical and social viewpoints. Not only it is difficult to deploy and update content encryption and security infrastructure, but also the content diffusion is limited and Fair Use is affected. The new schema for DRM should be content monitoring system in public space that prevents illegal diffusion of content in copyright but permits content being used freely in private space or for social liberty. The traditional rights in analog times will fluently move to digital space under the proposed schema.

Abstract:With the globalization of knowledge economy today, the tight combination of standards and intellectual property drives forward a new "technology patentization, patent standardization, and standards monopolization" competition situation. This paper reviews the patent crisis that was encountered by the digital right management (DRM) standards of open mobile alliance (OMA), and then performs a multi-aspects analysis of patents in the whole DRM domain and analyzes other DRM standards'patents. Abstract:Digital rights management (DRM) has been widely used in digital content protection nowadays and has made a great contribution to the protection of digital content. However, the traditional DRM technology has several disadvantages such as centralization, non-transparency of copyright information and transaction information. Centralized servers are vulnerable to be attacked and opaque information is not user-friendly. The blockchain technology which has emerged in recent years has the advantages of decentralization, collective maintenance, security, and reliability. It can be a great solution to the above problems. In this paper, we propose a design of DRM Mechanism based on blockchain technology. We record the copyright transaction information and license information on the blockchain to make information transparent and safe. We use smart contact to ensure the reliability of copyright transaction and issue licenses automatically, which eliminates the need for centralized servers to verify identities and issue licenses. Our mechanism allows copyright owners to set prices for different content usage rules as they wish. Customers choose the usage rules they would like to purchase flexibly. We also design a blockchain based license structure, which is close to the current DRM standards and easy to be promoted.
