Effect of Local Upsetting on Forging of Spur Gear

Abstract:In order to reduce the forming force of forging spur gear,through analyzing the distribution of contact stress for upsetting cylinder,the max stress occured at the center zone of blank,so by using local upsetting,the forming force can reduce.The experimental scheme of local upsetting in the forging of spur gear was designed.Finally,the scheme was further validated by DEFORM-3D,and the simulation results show the validity of local upsetting forming.
