Abstract:Objective To investigate neuroprotective effect and the bleeding side effect of cilostazol in acute stroke.Methods 100 mice were divided into sham group,control group,cilostazol group(10mg/kg),aspirin group(30mg/kg).Mice middle cerebral artery occlusion model with 3 hours infarction and 21 hours reperfusion was established.After 24 hours,the occlusion water content,infarct volume,hemoglobin content,and neurological score were measured.Results Cilostazol did not significantly increase the volume of bleeding,reduced infarct size,and improved neurological science score.And aspirin significantly increased cerebral hemorrhage,cerebral edema,did not improve neurological score(all P<0.05).Conclusion In acute ischemic stroke cilostazol can reduce the cerebral edema and infarct volume and improve neurological function,without increasing the risk of bleeding;while aspirin has no significant brain protection effect and increases the risk of bleeding.
